damn that sucks. I'm usually more careful on the last week and the first week of the month coz in those 2 weeks cops are usually trying to hit their quota on writing tickets. (i've heard from a reliable source) lol...

Two weeks before, one of my friend got a ticket saying he's going 91mph when he's only going 78. There was a car going pretty fast and overtaking us right before the cops pull us over. However, those cops don't care, they just give you tickets, hit the quota and done. |

There was a truck on my tail too. He wrote me for 77 in a 65. Since this is my first ticket ever, I wonder if I can just pay the fine and go to traffic school to get rid of the point. I don't want my insurance going up :( |

I've used http://trafficschoolonline.com a few times before. Definitely do it online vs. going to an actual traffic school class which will be 8 hours of your life you'll never get back.
if you have the free time: 1) request a trial to contest the ticket. A date will be set and you will appear in person at traffic court. 2) if CHP officer does not show, you will automatically win and ticket will be dismissed. 3) if the officer does show, it is likely you will lose regardless of what excuse you have. Plead no contest and ask for both a fine reduction, and traffic school. A nice judge will usually do both for you. If it's your first ticket you automatically have the right to traffic school. But I've seen people who did not have that right, i.e. had another ticket in 18 mos. prior, still be granted permission to take traffic school). You always want to do traffic school whenever possible to avoid your insurance rates going up. |
@SOLDIER [X] and @PMok thanks for the tip, now that I just moved the Newark I will have to be REALLLLL careful there. Ha paying toll and tickets will get too pricey...
@PMok I do not need a lawyer right? Just show up to the hearing date |
