Checking your Direct Injector numbers

3 Attachment(s)
Hey everyone! Here is a little trick to see the number of the direct injector seals you have on your car. This is useful if you are going to replace them and want to order them before taking everything apart.

Below is the general area you will be looking in. This is right behind the AC compressor and down below the manifold. notice where the white light from my stinger is shining on the head of the bolt below the manifold

Attachment 68818

Below is a closer look of where you are looking. Sorry for the crap and blurry pic but this is zoomed in some more. to the left under the manifold you will see the top of bolt there.directly behind that is the actual injector. which you will see in the next pic.

Attachment 68819

Below is the zoom of the straight shot down right behind the bolt i was talking about in the previous pic. you can see the number and you can see the connector going into it.
Attachment 68820

Hope this helps!

It's a good post. Most people don't know you can see it without removing a thing

just trying to educate myself. why would the numbers be different from one car to the next? isn't it 1 seal per injector? thx for the post.

It has to do with the angles they spray into the cylinders. Each number that is labeled on it sprays differently so you need the same set that came w yours and all need to be the same. As for the fuel injectors, you don't need to worry about any of that. Hope this helps !

The direct injector thread had this updated. Its very good you can sneak a peak and see the numbers. I hope overtime as corrosion sets in and dirt builds up that these numbers don't disappear.

Great, no problem. Hopefully they stay healthy with no knock and detonations should be fine.
