Dealer installed new clutch assembly -- is there a break-in period?

Due to a squeaky clutch that exhibited a rough sensation upon engagement and release, the dealership replaced the entire clutch assembly under warranty (turned out to be a pressure plate issue). Upon searching online, I'm seeing differing opinions on whether or not to follow a break-in period. Some suggest following a 100 mile city driving break-in, others say 500 miles or none at all. If I should adhere to a break-in period, what procedure should I follow? Thanks!

1000 miles.. don't break 4000 RPM... kidding Lol. I've always thought clutches were ready to go from the get go.

500 miles no hard shifting, shoud be all good after that.

Oh man, a second 1000 mile break in period would be hell haha.

500 miles of CITY driving. If the clutch isn't being used, it's not wearing in, so highway miles isn't doing anything.

That's normal for every clutch I've done.

How should I drive it for those 500 miles, other than being gentle upon take off and not power shifting? Should I limit the RPM that I shift at to 4k?

U need lots of shifting

I love boost!!!!!!

It's the number of shifts not miles that count on a clutch break-in. Drive it normally, don't baby it.. but don't rawdog it either. After a couple hundred normal shifts the surface "newness" of the clutch should be broken in.

But truth be known... for me - I'd drive it like I stole it. At the end of the day... its just a clutch :D

You mean you don't downshift on the highway?

When freeway driving, I may be in 6th for longer periods of time, but I don't think I stay in any one gear for more than 5 minutes at a time during highway commutes.

Wow I can't believe they did that job for free. I had the same squeaky clutch, rough feeling too, and it went away rather quickly. For such a minor thing, you're very lucky they did that for you!

Man, you must have a lot of traffic or something :bellyroll:

Pervious clutches I've had done, the manufacturer said to essentially double the mileage if you're driving consisted of a bunch of highway...

Depends on time of day.

On phone I am. Therefore, if mistakes I make, Frank Oz blame you should.

Definitely glad they did the job, as I was told it was "normal" by another dealer. I waited about 3,000 miles for it to go away on its own, to no avail. It was super annoying.
