What happens after lemon law
So time is fast approaching that I will finally be buying myself a BRZ. I have a friend (well more of an acquaintance) that has a used car dealership. He says he can find me a used for a good deal, and i'm willing to give him the chance. What scares me about it though with a car this new is if it's at auction then why? So my question is what happens after someone invokes the lemon law? Would it end up at the auction?
Also what do y'all think of buying one this way? It makes a little nervous, but so does buying from the dealer as this will be the first that i couldn't pay cash straight out for. |

Many perfectly good cars end up at auction, and yes, you could buy a lemon but that happens buying used or new. The biggest issue buying used is just not knowing how the car was cared for an abused. |

Maybe the previous owner lemoned it after replacing a chirping HPFP 3 times lol.

If it's been modified at all I don't want it. And I feel pretty confident about checking one out, originally went to school for automotive and worked as a tech for a while. Only quit because I had no desire to work in my vehicle when I got off.
But I'm going to talk to the guy tomorrow about the particulars and questions like this. If he can't get me a good enough deal or really guarantee something's then i'll do as originally planned and go to the dealer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sadly, I think the FR-S/BRZ is going to be a car that you have to view with a large amount of suspicion if you buy one used, and have a solid warranty with it as well. |

This i completely agree with and is uh part that kinda scares about buying used the most. Main I'm looking used right is because I want an GBS but if really comes down I'll be plenty happy with what I can get. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I bought mine used with 9k miles from a subaru dealer.
So my warranty is now BETTER than the stock factory warranty (they extend it for "certified used" cars). It is perfect. I have not had a single problem with it and I am at 16k miles. They bought it from an auction. I assume that such a perfect car at an auction meant: 1- re-possession or 2 - confiscated from a drug bust. And as a bonus I just might have one of the very first GBS cars in the US (serial # 102). |
