Sure the FR-S is awesome, but do you miss your previous car?
Many of you whom traded in your previous "baby" for the FR-S, do you ever have your regrets? I had a G35 that I absolutely adored, I mean that thing was a panty dropper, no offense FR-S! Aesthetically I prefer the FR-S over my old car but best believe I still miss the G. Anyway enough about my life. Is there anyone who feels the same way sometimes? Don't get my wrong I would still make the same decision by purchasing the FR-S again if it came down to it.

I miss the brute power of my Stage 3 2011 WRX

I had a 2002 Sentra Spec V. I had it for 7+ years and really liked it. It was a bit loud with header and custom 2.5" header back, but she had torque :). I had 0 issues except for an alternator going bad.
I don't really miss it too much now that I have an FRS, but the torque would of been superb for when I went to Quebec city and the trunk was loaded and got a red light on a steep hill. Stalled it , then tried to peel away, but not enough revs and heavy rear made for a nice bog and slow getaway LOL. |
I miss the power and easily-obtainable more power of my Camaro SS. Starting with 430hp is one thing, but being able to do simple bolt-ons and a tune to get 50hp more or a cam for fairly cheap to get whatever feel on the engine you want... there's a reason so many people drop LS-engines in everything. Was it nimble? No. But it could still corner well and responded very well to suspension upgrades (as seen on the 1LE version).
I sold it when my wife and I were down to one job. I didn't want to make her sell her car, she hadn't had it for a full year yet. Losing a job can be hard. But I will be back in a V8 sometime down the line. I do love my FR-S though, especially after drivetrain and suspension upgrades. I've had plenty of old Toyota's and one RX-7 in the past and it was nice to be back in a small nimble car again. |
I had a fully loaded Kia Forte... I'd say I don't miss the driving dynamics; however, I do miss the damn backup cam and bluetooth that ALWAYS worked properly! So no... I don't miss my previous car but just some of the other "features" it had.

Ive had many sports cars years back and most with double the powa, do I ever miss them?...NO. This cars FUN FACTOR is more then any car I've had, and IMO is one of the best "looking" cars out there. Where I live in my area there are not just a few but MANY roush SC Mustangs, GTRs, Vettes etc and those now are just belly buttons nothing special really. I've been to many meets for car shows and car coffee gatherings and these little guys get lots of attention mostly cause no one knows what the hell they are even still a few years after they been out.

I missed my college car.
I did almost everything by my self cuz I could not afford any labor fee. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attac...1&d=1382531341 http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attac...1&d=1382531341 |
Previous car was an STI hatch. It had been one of the cars on my bucket list, so I miss it at times (snow, rain), but the FR-S is great. No regrets in moving on.
And eventually the time will come to move on from the FR-S as well. My bucket list: - AWD/turbo (STI hatch) -- check - lightweight FR (FR-S) -- check - MR (NSX, Elise, Cayman S) - RR (911) - Z06 (C6 or C7) Life's short and I think it's worth trying different cars for the experience. |
Every once in a while I miss the small, closed in feeling I had in my crossfire. it felt like a sports car, though drive like a gt (read soft and numb). Wasnt a real sportscar, but torque! And it sounded awesome under load. I sure don't miss the maintenance costs!

Only the torque. Mazdaspeed3

Sometimes i miss it. I had a 2005 Scion tC supercharged 9.5psi. I think i miss the fact that it was paid off lol
|
The 16 year old S52 in my previous car felt like a better engine overall in terms of smoothness, power delivery, sound
The chassis was pretty well sorted too... and it was just as easy if not more so to throw the back end around at will with a 3.91 LSD Damnit, now I regret everything :( |
I don't miss the car immediately preceding my FR-S (a tC), but I do miss the EVO IX I had a couple of cars before.

I miss my 135i when a V8 revs at me at the light lol
