BRZ! NEW HOT AND STOLEN
So i am betting my money that this car will make it to the top 3 most stolen cars in 6 months.
what do you guys think? |
Doubt it. There simply won't be enough of those around to make the top-stolen list.

Yeah even if they were all stolen, they wouldn't be in the top 10.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure most BRZs will come with this built-in theft deterrent: http://image.motortrend.com/f/395317...RZ-shifter.jpg |
6000 brz said to be brought to the USA correct? im sure most of it will be messed with one way or another. *crosses fingers that mine will not*
plus we got alot those FRS running around too. so looking at the actual number it wont make top 3, but lets look at "percentage" of vandelized vs made, that % could be high |
If you look at the top stolen cars list, it is not cars that are desirable, it is cars that are common and easy steal. There will be no market for BRZ/FRS parts until there are a lot them out there, so there won't be much reason to steal them. People don't steal cars to drive around like Gone in 60 Seconds, they steal cars to chop them and sell the parts. The HID bulbs might be a target if they are easy to get to.

"Here are the 10 most stolen vehicles as reported by the NICB — the number in parentheses is the model year most stolen:
Honda Civic (1995) Honda Accord (1991) Toyota Camry (1989) Ford F-150 (1997) Chevrolet C/K 1500 (1994) Acura Integra (1994) Dodge Ram Pickup (2004) Nissan Sentra (1994) Toyota Pickup (1988) Toyota Corolla (2007)" Notice only a couple are less then a decade old, and the newest is also one of the most common cars in America. |
Why would anyone steal one? To have (in many peoples eyes) the worst Subaru performance engine around? To put heated seats in a FR-S?
I'm guessing more people will steal an STI/WRX.. sure some BRZs will be stolen but I won't even bother installing an alarm on the car. |

Stolen car rankings are based how many stolen per 1000 of the same car on the road. I don't think it will though
|
No way. It'll be too high profile to move as a whole and doesn't have enough of a market to part out. Only joyriders will want to steal these cars and the immobilizer will defeat 99.9% of them.

The question to ask is "why would you steal one?"
