Brake Line Sealant Spray?
 

When I replaced my brake pads today. I notice that where the brake hard line meets the brake hose. There is this over spray. All for corners are the same.

At first glance I thought my hose was leaking brake fluid and dirt was sticking there.

Looking at it closer, it actually looks to have been done with a spray can.

So what is it for? A sealant? Or rust prevention?

I noticed it too....but I didn't pay any attention to it as I've seen it before on other types of cars as well. I think it could be for rust prevention?
