Looks like over $10K in damages, no thanks

Kelbyat07 03-02-2014 10:26 PM

Never swerve to try to avoid things, just hit the crap out of it. Good luck with sell.

STS-V 03-03-2014 04:46 PM

$10k in damage? Wow. Not even half that...

midnight23 03-05-2014 05:06 AM

5 speed transmission?

Dave-ROR 03-05-2014 08:21 AM

You are in Ohio but the car was in Alabama. Proof that this was your car? Why is the header off? Why does it have an intake if its stock other than the springs?

Insurance companies aren't stupid, they total around 75% of value. There is no way in hell that's just $2,500 in damage in my opinion.

Dave-ROR 03-05-2014 08:34 AM

You bought this at a copart auction in Atlanta. Probably for 5k or less. I suspect you bought it to build but realized the cost so you are now trying to flip it. I don't believe at all that this was your car or your story (wreck in Ohio isn't going to result in a south Atlanta auction).

Post proof that I'm wrong by the end of the week or this thread and your account are gone for BSing potential buyers.

I agree. Just looking at the pictures you can already tell that the car is in a copart facility. And the title shows the car was purchased and stayed in Alabama. With him being a transporter, there is no doubt that he bought this car for what he thought was a good deal but doesn't want to go through with the head ache. So now he is selling for double what he paid for.

bee_are_zee 03-05-2014 10:50 AM

First two sentences are just fishy.

Rayme 03-05-2014 10:52 AM

10 000$ is way too much, this car needs more than 10 000$ in parts and labor.

Even if it would only cost 10 000$ it would leave you with a 20 000$+ FRS who's been totalled and has 30 000 miles on it with no warrenty, hardly a deal. Lower your price man, or sell it for parts.

Thorpedo 03-05-2014 11:08 AM

Adding in my vote that OP is a scammer. Why?

Apparently it was driven 30,000 miles without the owner realizing it has a 6th gear.
The fact that he said he hit a fire hydrant at <10mph is complete bullshit.
Also, coolant flushes? Why would that need to be done?
You said it has all the options, yet it doesn't have the upgraded head unit?
Why was the header off?
Did you make sure the intake was Ok before starting it up?

And last but not least... $2500 for a complete repair? Are they exclusively going to use bubble gum, zip ties, and rattle cans from Wal-Mart to paint it?

30 year old professional turned 16 year old failure of a scam artist.

What proof do you need? The title is in my name. You want a scan of it and my drivers license? The header is off so we could inspect the block to make sure the frame rail diddnt hit anywhere on the side of the block. The intake is an aftermarket replacement for fuel mileage.

Wow, that shows how little you know. I am the marketing director for the worlds largest late model, high performance, domestic sport car and truck auto yard. We happen to be copart and IAAI resellers. I bought my own car back through our company.

Did you even bother to look at any of the other pictures? Like maybe the car on a lift here at my job or the video I took and uploaded? The car was bought new from the dealer in Alabama, and I travel up the east coast (take a look at the mileage.) Take a look at the history on non-reran FR-S, not a single one with an engine running has went for under $8k.

$10,000 in parts and labor? I have a quote from a certified Carstar collision center for under $7k total at the ridiculously over inflated insurance rates I'd be happy to upload. If you dont know what you're talking about, please dont spread ignorance.

I said $10k or ill fix it myself and post the thread here. This is quite a bit of hostility, calling me a scammer (for what exactly? there is nothing to be gained fraudulently here,) is this what I am to expect from this forum? I am quite the car enthusiast and have built and modified many high end and low end cars and this is pretty disappointing.

Because your story makes no sense, you travel on the highway yet didn't know it had a 6th gear. It doesn't have all the options. Painted taillights are technically not stock. It wouldn't have been placed in a GEORGIA salvage yard from a wreck in Ohio. There are multiple CoPart yards in Ohio, including two right next to you which I'm sure you know. The intake is also not stock. You missed something as obvious as the bent tie rod in your parts list.

I don't give a crap what you do to be honest. Your thread screams that you actually don't know jack crap about what you are selling and seems to indicate that you bought it off the auction without owning it previously.

For proof, let's see the ORIGINAL bill of sale/dealership paperwork or copy of the title from 2012.

And hope no one googles your youtube name...
