Mike's white walrus machine

So I've been lurking on the forums here for a while, and figured I should finally get a build thread started for the car.

I picked up my 2013 FRS 6MT in April of last year as a way of cutting down on the ridiculous fuel bill I had driving my Evolution X 240 km a day for work. I initially didn't plan on doing any power mods to keep the great fuel economy of the car....but we all know how that can go :burnrubber:

Here's a creeper shot I took of the car as it sat on the dock before the dealer came to collect it

Here I am exploring the stellar limits of the OEM Primacys

A shot of the girl snuggled up with my Corolla

Mid summer last year, I replaced the stocker tires with BFG Rivals in stock size which made an AMAZING difference to the car. These tires rock. I think they even top the Dunlop Star Specs I ran on my Evo. Loads of grip.

I also changed out the suspension for KW v3 and lowered the car a bit.

It handles really nicely now, but needs moarr powaarrrrr!!!!!....

....which we'll touch on in the posts to follow :)

Oh, and I don't use the vehicle for work anymore, so after 35,000 KM in less than a year, the old girl can take a bit of a break from the highway commute.

Here's a shot of the car at its current rideheight on the KWs. Turbo kit is still being fabbed @MAPerformance. Researching tuning options now, very interested in @DeliciousTuning.

I love that shot of the 2 86's

Delicious will be tuning our kit on @SmsAlSuwaidi car. He might be a great source for you.

I love the AE86, its rough as hell compared to the FRS with the suspension setup I have in it, but crazy fun to slide around an empty bit of pavement :)

I love this pic of it with the front wheels up in Targa last year!

Unfortunately for me @SmsAlSuwaidi is running a larger gtx turbo, whereas I'm running the small Precision. Might save a bit of time dialing in the MAF though haha.

We will be actually using Speed Density to do our tuning, no MAF required (only for charge temp adjustments). This will in the end have the affect of allowing us to tune different turbo sizes on the MAP Performance turbo kit with no problem.

Cheers,
William Knose

I have the Honda sensor put aside for it :)

First day of spring post!

http://i61.tinypic.com/2nw25hv.jpg

Can't wait to get the winters off in another 6 weeks or so. Gonna give the car a nice bath then too after all the salt is washed away.

Trying to decide on a clutch to go with now to hold the extra power the car will be making. Torn between ACT and clutchmasters. I've used many ACTs in the past, and they've been great (I don't mind the pedal pressure that much). The clutchmasters are so damn expensive!!!

Seriously consider the Competition Clutch stage 3. I really love it. Stiffer pedal, but it wont fatigue you on long trips, small chatter, but nothing too crazy for a segmented clutch. And the lightened flywheel it comes with was a nice bonus.

These parts came on Thursday, can't wait to start into it! Still waiting on the clutch and exhaust.

I need to do a wheel bearing too up front. It's making a huge racket.
