TRD Lip Spoiler - Buy in Canada?

Hey fellow Canadians,

Has anyone bought a genuine TRD lip spoiler for their 86? Also what price did you pay for it, painted? My dealer is having a tough time getting a supplier, so I was going to try other avenues.

I tried a search on the forum to no avail. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great! :)

TRD North America is not the same as TRD Japan. Get the real thing from the land of the rising sun.

Also interested in a TRD supplier locally in Canada. Replica or authentic.

Sorry I'm a noob at ordering things online. Is this site very trusted? It says the price is $347.64 CAD painted...is that correct?

I get all my STI stuff from them and they are very reliable. You can add the item to the cart and do a quote of the part's price + shipping to your location. They use either FedEx or EMS (but you don't get to choose).

Careful with japanparts. Great vendor but you likely will get screwed on duties importing from japan. Everything I have gotten from them litterally double in price after shipping and duties.

Weird. Japanparts.com is my go to spot, because the duties never rape me with steep or extra duties compared to buying parts from the US.

However, I should note that I never bought anything extremely large like a spoiler (it has been interior goodies, GT86 exhaust tips, etc) and could otherwise be shipped by Japan Post/EMS, which hands it off right to Canada Post and if I am not around home when they deliver, I pick it up from the nearest Post-Office. Do you think size is the factor as to why I haven't been screwed yet? Now your scaring me for next time lol.

The key to getting anything shipped to Canada is use general postage, USPS, Japan Post. Check out http://www.thefinalcost.com/ to determine hidden fees from the major companies USPS, FedEx, UPS, EMS.

Last order I got charged $80 on a $90 part (Sti Gurney Flap). It wasn't very large and was delivered by Canada Post/Japan Post.

If you find a way to consistently avoid those fees, I have a lot more stuff I would love to order!

Our gov is broke so it's hard to avoid it these days. Gotta pay to play.

I just ordered mine from that Japan Parts web site. They are legit and easy to deal with. Shipped right to my door. Had Speedstar install it. Took about a week to arrive and the prices on the site are accurate.

Has anyone ordered an exhaust from them. Interested in getting the Blitz exhaust but don't want to get dinged by duties

Does the TRD spoiler come pre-painted from Japanparts ??

That doesn't seem right... duties on auto parts are usually ~6-8%. Plus Ontario's tax of 13% you are looking at 21%, which should be around 20 bucks at most. I wonder what else they charged you for. What did the bill say?

You can choose. Un-painted or pre-painted in white, black or red.

Actually if you can prove that customs overtaxed you, the gov will refund you the difference, it's some form you fill in.
