Where should we go to buy extended warranty?
I was thinking about buying it right before the factory expires. However, somebody told me that extended warranty covers slightly more than factory warranty. Of course, I mean Subaru extended warranty, not a 3rd party one.
It seems that other Subaru drivers can get 7yr/100k for about $1000. Can we do better? It would be interesting if somebody has some insight/experience to share. |
You can buy it from any dealer, shop around exactly like you would when buying a car.
7yr/100k have different deductibles (and possibly coverage levels). $1000 might not be a bad price for a $0 deductible Gold plan (I have no idea about current prices, just going from memory several years back), for a $100 deductible 'Classic' plan - not so much. |
My impression is that some online dealers can sell it at a substantially discounted price. I am talking about the $50 deductible one. If there are enough guys interested, we can have a group buy and end up with a terrific deal.

If the 7 year warranty is 1000 dollars... I'm in. 1000 dollars for peace of mind is worth it in my books.

Use that $1k on mods instead when your factory warranty runs out.
We aren't driving a $70k M3. Don't really need an extended warranty. |
You should be able to buy extended warranty before the original warranty runs out. It's cheaper to buy extended warranty the same time when you buy the car. I guess it's useful in case your direct injector seals go south for example.
