Any idea on allocation for upstate New York?

I am looking for a specific BRZ in upstate New York. Did anyone find any luck in ordering one up here? Looking for a Limited manual in Satin White Pearl. I tried to call a couple of dealers here and all they could tell me is they would probably only have a demo version available in June. ( I have checked the allocation thread and found no info on New York)

I'm going to try to call the number "2" Subaru dealership which is like 200 miles away to see if I have any luck.

Another question, does anyone know the size comparison compared to an RSX. I'm coming from a CRZ and find it a bit too small for me.

The BRZ will be slightly smaller than an RSX. They have the same wheelbase, but the BRZ is 5" less in length, 4.5" shorter, but it is 2" wider than an RSX.

Also, when you say "Upstate New York" does that mean any part of New York that isn't NYC, or do you mean the northern half of New York State?

I think he means upstate NY proper as the only people that incorrectly call anything outside of the city upstate are those people from the city.

I'm from Rockland, my dealer only knows when shipments are coming, not specifically what cars.

Coincidentally I'm also coming from the CRZ, and having sat in 2 BRZs and an FR-S, I can tell you that the car is definitely bigger inside but not by a huge amount. Probably comparable to the RSX, but keep in mind the seats are snug (which I like). The best thing is that you can actually see out of the back and sides of the damn car.

We do that also (on Long Island).

Riverhead Bay Subaru has 8 and only 4 are on order, probably way too far from 'upstate proper'.

I'm first at my dealership (Mid-Hudson Subaru) and they said they won't be getting the first one till June/July and that I have a first refusal if I don't like it (They said Subaru likes to "add" accessories to their cars...sounds like they want more money on the sale. Might just go to a different dealership. I don't mind waiting as long as they don't try to jack the price up). I heard the Subaru dealership in Buffalo is getting quite a lot, since they're one of the top dealers in the country.

I live around Binghamton NY and my Subaru dealer (Matthews Subaru) in Vestal, NY is fulfilling my pre-order at the end of this month from what I've heard. I don't know too much about what their allocation is but they were able to get the BRZ I wanted (DGM, Limited) pre-ordered so they're doing something right.

I live in Syracuse, NY (central new york/upstate), and I've checked with every Subaru & Toyota dealership in the city and none of them are expecting an FRS or BRZ anytime soon :(

Everyone who lives in the upstate NY area needs to get their car ASAP so we can have a meetup while they still look pretty in the summer time!:party0030:

Meetup sounds fun. My FRS/BRZ won't see a single snowflake or drop of Salt though. I plan on keeping her in the garage from late Nov through early March. I'm either keeping my tC for the winter (already have steel wheels & snows for it that I swap on in the winter), or I'll sell the tC and buy an older Impreza or some other reliable winter-rat.

Van Bortel in Rochester is probably getting a bunch of them if you're willing to drive a little. I was told they expect 2-3 per month and the last time I checked they had 6 preorders, so it will still be a while before they have any sitting around.

That's great news because I prefer cars with a wider stance.

Also it's central New York on the i-90 highway.

The CRZ has horrible rear quarter view and the exterior is too narrow.

Well I just talked to a dealer in Syracuse and they said they have three arriving soon. Grey Limited, and two other base that I'm not interested in. Also talked to a dealer in Albany NY and they said they have 6 coming in and 3 of them already reserved. None of which will be a White Limited manual.

What a bummer. lol I wonder how long it would take to order the car from my local dealer.

Actually called them earlier and them being the number two dealer in the nation. The guy I talked to seem like he didn't know anything about the BRZ. At first he thought there was a 5-speed variation of the car. Lol

I will try Binghamton Subaru next! Wish me luck. Haha

If you call Matthews Subaru in Vestal, make sure you ask for the head manager so you don't get stuck with one of the sales people. As has been noted many times, the knowledge we have about the car far exceeds what most of the salesmen know and when I went their to place my pre-order and also later on when I test drove the car, I ended up explaining the majority of the features on the car to them.

Everyone is super nice there though and my parents have bought Subarus from them before and have no complaints. I know they're selling it at MSRP.

If you do find out any more information about their allocation numbers or anything else, please let me know. I'm curious as to how many BRZ brethern will be in my area.

i test drove a premium auto and put my name down at van bortel early last month. The rep there said he was trying to get a limited manual for people to try out but i havent heard anything since. Van Bortel is located in Victor which is 20-30 mins from rochester. If youre heading this way you have to get a garbage plate. just sayin
