Anyone else have problems with nigel-jdmparts.com???

I ordered an engine cover from them over 8 weeks ago.
At first they told me it was in stock, then it magically wasn't in stock and would take 3 weeks to come in.
Now they won't respond to my emails or messages.

Anyone else have this problem?? At this point I just want my money back and never deal with them again.

If this is the wrong thread, please move to appropriate location.

I just ordered an arm rest that was apparently "in stock", but then got an email saying it's a 2 to 3 week wait

I'm not too happy, but I really want the arm rest so I'll wait. If I don't have it in 3 weeks, I'll seek a refund.

I ordered Tom's and a few other parts and never had a problem, the only thing is I don't think there is any proactive notification about backorder or things within 1-2 weeks. If you ask should get a prompt response on order status.

sometimes "in stock" really means "i can get that for you". My impression is that this is a smaller/niche business and as such may not have a huge warehouse full of stuff just waiting for your order.

I ordered the JDM knee pads from Nigel and he sent me the clear side marker lights instead. After some emails, my knee pads were in the mail, and he eventually sent me a prepaid return shipping label to send the lights back. Mistakes happen, he rectified it. I'd order from him again.

yes, i've had the same problem. ordered something that was 'in stock' and it was not. i told him that he needed to take that availability status off the website if it didn't indicate real-time inventory.
i was really pissed off when i asked whether something was in stock, and he said that it was, then when i placed the order, it wasn't. he said that it has sold out right before i ordered it. however, he still kept telling people that it was in stock after he had told me that it wasn't. thread here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...=30324&page=13

After 2 weeks they finally replied with the same genetic "will arrive in 1-2 weeks" that I've been getting this whole time.
I'm just going to order from another vendor then sell this one.. if I ever get it.

Your best bet is order from japanparts.com when it comes to those things he has listed. I always get my parts from them.

I had the same issue ordering the armrest from Nigel-JDMParts. Forum posts and the site indicated it was "In Stock" and "Availability - 7-10 Days" but after about 6 weeks of it still saying that and me still waiting for even a tracking number, I requested a refund.

Here's a thread I posted about it with a better summary:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55004

My biggest concern was the email/PM I got after I posted that asked me to not post bad things because it hurts them. Negative comments should help an online seller by motivating them to improve.

Prices have since gone up about $30, but I'm much happier spending my money someplace that does a better job updating their stock status.

I bought mine on eBay. All told it was about $220 and I got it in about two weeks (from the UK).

Like I said, more than the $190-ish that I originally paid but I'm much happier giving money to someone who deserves it.

Nothing on eBay. I guess I'll wait

I did the same thing. I was a bit irritated that the in-stock status means a two-month wait. So he gave me a refund and I ordered my armrest from a UK place.

BTW, it's the BEST 86 accessory I've bought. In a subtle way, it transformed the cabin to be far more creature-comfortable.
