They are towing my vehicle and the STi all the way back down to Washington because they are really wanting to help out a couple Soldiers who's cars are stuck a couple hours from the post we call home. The vehicles should arrive at Titus Will Collision (they have great reviews and an A+ with the BBB) sometime this week. I will be getting a rental vehicle until then.

USAA was a surprise. I was involved in an accident with a driver who was insured by USAA in the Pentagon parking lot (I was not). My bike was totaled by my insurance and I was happy overall. I then got a call from USAA offering me some cash which was a total surprise. TL;DR: USAA will make it right for you, and they have some "suction".

What rental you got? Enterprise gave me a E250 Mercedes.

Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed by the Enterprise I went to. They basically said... "This is all we have, take it". Chrysler 200. >.<

I truly do advise USAA for an insurance company if you can get it :] Great people over there.

when i first got in the military i was told to get USAA for a credit card to help build credit. so i sent them a picture of a void check to be able to make payments from my bank acc and the account number was put in wrong so on my first ever credit card payment in my life i was 2 months late because no one there could figure it out because i couldnt see the number and they couldnt without going into my account more or something i dont really understand but it looked like ****** lol. until finally someone figured it out. so i payed the entire card off and never used it again.

this made my credit so bad that i couldnt get a loan at all. i went back to them to get a car loan and they said the max they could give me was $3k and minimum was $2500.

i've heard nothing but great things about their insurance but when you have one not so great experience it makes you not want to go back.

latepost.
This was the POV at the front of the convoy if anyone was wondering... Hope everyone's doing okay from the accident; thanks to the STI for accompanying us and trying to get us some flyby footage. I got my BRZ since my G35 got totaled from being rear ended, so I can sympathize with you guys on how a pain it is to take care of.

Thanks for posting! I was actually the lead car (white BRZ) and watched this video carefully.
Sorry the incident/accident occurred on the off-ramp for all involved. It appeared participants in the last convoy were driving respectfully, attentively, and carefully up till that point, when an unfortunate lapse in judgement must have happened. No injuries, thank God.
Hope a group of us can band together for another 86 WA convoy this time!

BRZ repairs

Just a quick update on my car. Before I start.... I visited it while it was still in the estimate process with just the bumpers off and what not. They had it parked outdoors in what seemed to be their staging area. The only problem is that it was under a row of trees that an auto body place should probably never have on their lot. I noticed multiple spots where it appeared that tree sap had dripped down onto the paint of my car, I simply asked if they could move it due to that and they did. It was supposed to be done about two weeks ago, but they were waiting for my exhaust to get shipped in (Yes, they replaced my Invidia N1 :happyanim:). I got a call on Monday to go pick it up, so I went there. Everything looked beautiful and new... minus one thing. There was what looked to be a dried white residue on the roof and some of the side panels, clearly the tree sap. I asked them if they could buff that out or do something about that since it most definitely happened while it was in their care. They said they would see what they can do.

Tuesday comes around and I called them for an update and spoke to my estimator there at Titus Will Collisions. He said that they attempted to use a chemical designed to remove tree sap without any luck and are now at a loss of what to do. He called Subaru for advice apparently and they told him that it was an environmental defect (Obviously.... tree sap.... duh) and that to be careful because these cars have a very soft clear coat. He said that is the reason why he does not want to attempt buffing the spots out. At the end of the conversation I was told he would talk to his manager and give me a call the next morning (This morning). Still haven't heard anything back so I will probably end up having to call them again for an update late today.

tl;dr - Car repairs took forever and then had to wait on my exhaust to be shipped in... car now has tree sap on it from while it was there that they are having trouble removing....

Sounds like the shop owes you a full detail at a professional shop. Body shops can be careless, and it sounds as if yours was in this case. An expert should be able to take care of this, regardless of what got on the paint. Don't accept the car till it's perfect. My two cents.

Agreed, thanks for the input. In my opinion a good clay bar would take it off. Just got off the phone with the manager at Titus Will Collision and they are VERY reluctant to do anything else about it, saying that it definitely isn't tree sap because they would be able to get it off if it was and the sap doesn't damage paint/clear coat that quickly (I call BS since it probably sat in the sun for a couple days with that shit on there). He says it is a defect in the paint or clear coat from Subaru. I know I shouldn't let them take advantage of me or anything... but I'm probably just going to get the car back tomorrow and drive over to Griots Garage which is luckily right down the street. If anybody can get it off, it would be them and their products! So nice to have them in our area.
