No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you – this car is actually running a full EV drivetrain conversion. But what’s even cooler is that the car was built not just for show but for actual race use.

I want the EV one so I don't need to buy expensive gas ever again. A few dollars to charge a car is so much more appealing then $40 to fill up the tank. Plus instant crazy amounts of torque!

8-10 hours to charge fully.

No thanks.

Plug it in when you get home and when you wake up in the morning it will be fully charged. Plus if you just go to the store and always plug it in when you get home you'll never need to worry if it's charged or not.

Plus some areas have a driving tax. We get a 7500 federal rebate if we buy an electric vehicle here. :) I'm considering getting a BMW i3 or Tesla Model S after I pay off things in a few years.

Ah, is that all? We can beat that in the UK - $108.

There's a level 3 charger right outside my office at work. Brings a Leaf from near-depleted to 80% in less than 30 minutes.

However, living in a rural area with kids (lots of activities and errands) makes the Leaf's 75-100 mile range too restrictive. Also, I want RWD, balance, low weight, and a shifter... so no electric vehicle for me (but since I carpool to work and drive ~7000 miles/year, the cost of gas doesn't bother me).

Back to the topic, I kind of like the retro nose (the two tone color scheme, not so much):

In that fifth pic, I wonder how good the roads are in Japan before those dive planes get nicked off? That and the Nascar engine in that 86 doesn't have some extra structural supports to help the Flex around that whole car; does it? I can only imagine the front of that car flexing longitudinally all the way down to the rear tires. Can Imagine with a super fast slow motion camera that entire body would flex just like the 'Top Fuel Dragsters'. Not as apparently but to some degree that's for sure.

roads in japan are immaculate (compared to the USA anyway). I didn't have a car for the 1/2 year i lived there but I do remember noticing how nice they were. cant really comment too much on rural japan though since I didn't venture out of the metro area that many times.

Don't forget the initial cost of the EV engine as well...
