Just wanted to share my results. I'm not the most informed guy so I wouldn't be able to recognize if there was anything abnormal on the dyno graph. This was done on 91 octane.

I don't see anything abnormal since boost continutes to rise as the RPM increases. Perhaps the area from 3400 RPM to 4700 RPM could be bumped up to get rid of that dip in the torque curve possibly with the addition of a header.

definitely needs some work on the cams. good power, keeping in mind that evasive has (unless it's been recalibrated recently) the most optimistic mustang dyno ever :).

Are they the ones that said a stock 86 hit 205whp on their dyno?

Further edit: OP, what did you pay for this kit? And what did it include? The HKS kit is a rare bird around here.

yeah, they had a car with bolt ons, pump gas and i believe no tune reading like 210whp. maybe they switch back and forth by request? who knows... i just know that other car didn't make anywhere near 210 whp on a normal mustang lol.

It appears the HKS blower is a "roller and friction oil" type like the Rotrex blowers.

Compared to those kits (Kraftwerks & JR), this torque dip is crazy bad and oddly placed. The Rotrex blowers give a slight dip of ~10hp from ~4600-5500rpm, and a full exhaust gets rid of it. This plot has a big dip of ~20hp from ~3300-4700rpm.

Edit: Looked at OP's build thread; he has a full exhaust containing 1 high-flow CAT.

I think this is the first consumer HKS plot I've seen. Weird stuff man.

I don't think it's that optimistic considering it started all the way down at 156 stock.

i noticed that... my comment was based on the results from another dyno a user posted up a couple weeks ago, discussed above. 156whp is actually pretty optimistic for a stock car on a mustang, though. i've seen these cars put down 155-160 on a dynojet stock. some as high as 165-170. hence why dyno numbers are virtually useless for all but ego-padding and pissing contests.

Yea, I'm less concerned with the final numbers. It's good to know what percentage gains I made but I'm more concerned with the plot line itself, the torque dip, and if it's something I can do anything about.

For comparison, at 4275rpm you are showing ~160 ft/lb and you should be at ~180 ft/lb on that plot without the dip.

At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. I doubt you feel it in the butt-dyno and unless you are going to spend a lot of time on a track under 4500rpm, it'll won't make a time difference. Great build!

it looks like cam timing to me. do you have access to your rom? it appears as though the car is running stock cam maps, just based on the compared output. normally you'd see more ve through the midrange (eliminating the torque dip) and more up top above ~6.5k (i.e. pulling to redline) if they'd been optimized.

The car feels fine, and it's a lot of fun to drive. I spend most of my time driving at lower rpms though so losing all that torque in the band that I'm driving in is unfortunate. I figured that it was meant to be there since it was in the stock graph but if it should be smoothed out then I'm wondering if I have the wrong exhaust, wrong tune, or I'm missing something else. Just figure it's worth getting it right after investing so much.
