What do you use to fix door dents?
Today, I parked my car for an hour at my schools ramp and someone dented my panel with their door :mad0260:. I'm wondering if this fixable without having to go to a body shop and having them repair it.

Not sure if you can see it on the picture, but its both. The most noticeable one seems like the paint was chipped (for the most part), and just above it there is a dent as-well.

You might consult with a PDR person for the dent. Touch up paint for the chip.
After all, it's a car ..... not you SO's face .....;) humfrz |
Shit happens. Get it checked out at a reputable shop and let us know the feedback.

Parked on a ramp at school? High school? Looks malicious to me. Hate to say that but I think it's true. No dent remover I know would be able to fix that. I bet a body shop will make it look new again. Yet I know it's pricey. I would pay it to make her look new again. Let us know how it goes. Cheers.

I parked it at a college ramp, where you would think people would at least be more considerate of their own cars..I'm back to day one paranoia, parking on the outskirts of parking lots, and on the corners of the ramp so there can only be one car next to mine at any given time. There's a body shop a couple miles from my house, I'll check them out and let you guys know how it went. |

As others have said go to a paintless dent removal guy or company. A good one will cost you something like $90 and touch up the paint chip. Otherwise you'll have to repaint the whole thing.

Many dealerships have PDR guys come in multiple days a week to work on the cars on the lot, it could be cheaper to catch one and just throw a few bucks on the side to remove the dent. The PDR guy at my old dealership used to charge 30 bucks and looked brand new. The wheel guy used to charge 50 bucks a wheel for any curb rash work including paint.

Update: I went to the local body shop, and they said that it cost me $1,126 dollars in order to fix it!
Reason: because to do a "proper" job, they need to take off all of the side panels sand it all down, and then re-paint it. Seems a little too much for me to fix a door dent... |
