Locking Lug Nuts - Actual Utility?
Did a search on our boards and there isn't much info out on the use of locking nug nuts on aftermarket wheels.
With some of us living in more metropolitan areas (whether it's LA or Bay Area), I'm curious as to see if having a single locking nug nut on each of the four wheels is a good idea? I would hate to come back to my car to find the wheels gone, and my past cars have all had a lock and key for their OEM wheels.
With that being said, are there any sets of 4 locking lug nuts that you all may have had experience with that have proven to hold up well? I hear good things about McGard, but curious about other offerings out there. |

These are one of the safest lug nuts I have seen out there. They have allen caps on all lug nuts and after removing them, you have to have a hex head socket to remove them. |

you gotta pay to play. there are replicas for around $70 but the materials are inferior.

I had McGard lugs on my Protege5. However, nobody tried to steal my wheels. They were blue anodized though, and after pulling the wheels off and putting them back on a few times, the anodizing wore off pretty quickly.
These look interesting: http://www.gorilla-auto.com/graphics2011/12_Page_36.jpg |

Those are quite nice, and I sure as hell wouldn't want replica lug nuts on my car lol, seems like a safety hazard. |
