Another dealer inquiry (vic cbd)

Hey all,

Just thought i share an email i got back from a dealer for those possibly interested. nothing solid we don't know but hey better then nothing :|

Thank you for your valued enquiry for a Toyota 86. This car is being launched around the 18th of June 2012. At this stage we have not got any confirmed pricing, But were given indications that it will start from about $40000 + On roads. This means it will be about $44000 on the road for the base model and more for the higher model. We will have confirmed pricing nearer to the date of the launch. Stocks will be available from the date of the launch. We are accepting orders in advance of the launch based on these prices and customers will be informed of the exact price once we get firm pricing for them. If you do place an order in advance to the launch and if you feel you are not satisfied with the prices you will be entitled to cancel the deal, provided the price you expect it to be is not lower then what we have indicated to you in this email.

Pmsl nice one Dave

Another reason didn't preorder tony I didn't like what my local dealer was offering which worded similar to this.

Ol mate in the other thread said he seen 43k drive away for high spec (although not correct) and now this clown claiming 44k for base :bs:

Ol mate dealer saying that his area dude said 40-50k where higher predictions then what it will be.

My rant over I'm going back too work.

yeh its a bloody trap with the wording on it, but it does sound like they have available stock in their inventory.

if it was 40k drive away i'd prob put money down :mad0259:

They should realise that you can pick up a WRX drive away for 44K. Yes we're comparing a turbocharged sedan rally car to a 2 door RWD coupe.

I'm not in the market if the pricing is beyond 42K drive away for the GTS model.

I can spend anotehr 2 K and get a turbocharged rexi, and the practicality of a 4 door.

Dont screw this up Toyota.

Nah pretty much the only thing they have said is that the price will be less than that.

no way i'd go ahead with my pre order if a manual GTS is over $45k onroad. i'd rather buy a demo Scirocco at that price.

actually if it's over $42k on road, it will have to be a really good drive for me to commit. otherwise i'd wait.

There is nothing else I would buy over this car, except an old JDM AE86. If the staff pricing I can get is still more than I want Iwill simply wait for a low km used car in 6-12 months :) I would really like a brand new car, but buying a used car isn't the end of the world for me.
