I'm getting mine from Troncalli. Any other 'barus in the area? Anyone with a VIN or ETA?

Getting mine from Stivers Subaru in Decatur, Ga. No VIN or ETA from the dealer yet.

Mine is coming from Subaru of Kennesaw, I'm #1 on the list. No VIN/ETA yet, hoping to have it by June.

According to the latest email from my rep at Subaru of Gwinnett, I'm number 2 on the list. Initially I was 3, but I'm guessing one of the 2 in front of me canceled their order. He said he expects one per month with the first arriving May 30th.

I'm hoping I get mine in June and can break it in before a road trip in July.

Initially, I was dealing with SoK, but they hinted at a $5k markup as well as some other BS. I was giving John there all the information he knew. He'd confirm through his Sales Manager.

I'm getting mine through Stivers in Decatur as well. Are you dealing with James, Kwood9000? He said he *expected* to recieve 1 - 2 cars every month, starting in May, but he admitted that he wasn't given too many details about delivery/timings etc. I'm number 7 (of 8) on their list though, so I'm thinking it's going to be an August/September delivery for me. I'll contact him again some time this week to find out if he has any more details.
Does anyone know how many total orders there are in the Atlanta area?

Stivers got 8, SoG got 5, SoK got...12 I think. Not sure what Classic or Troncalli or whatever that dealer on the southside got, if any. If I had to guess, I'd say about 50 or so total. That's on the high side though.

Yes, I'm dealing with James at Stivers Subaru. Originally I was told that they had 6 pre-orders available, now it's 8. James initially told me that there were 34-36 BRZs allocated in the Atlanta area...who knows.

I'll try to call SOA and see if my VIN is available yet.

So... Has anyone gotten any updates on their VINs/ETAs?

I found a Limited Automatic BRZ in WRB last week at Stivers Subaru in Decatur, Ga.
It was in their inventory - an extra BRZ that came in unexpectedly, apparently, so I bought it in a hurry! I was happy to find it !

To "ringin" and the rest, just wanted to say welcome to the Atlanta 86 club! Look forward to passing you on the road. I've had my FR-S for 6 weeks now and except for meeting up with AtlantaRock intentionally, still haven't passed one on the road! "Olivia" is beginning to think she's the only one in Atlanta!

Yep I heard about that one. One of their "randoms". I have an order with Stivers for a CBS Limited 6MT, but still haven't heard anything about it :iono: Hopefully soon though! I wanted to ask, how was doing business with them? James was pretty up front and straight forward with me about everything when I ordered (pricing, ETA, etc), which I liked. Did they treat you well during the actual buying process?

And Dadhawk, hopefully once we all get our cars, we can organize a nice big ATL meet :D I haven't passed one on the road yet either

Yes, I saw that as well. I'm supposedly 1 on their list and ordered a Limited WRB AT and could not buy this one (Limited WRB AT with package 1A) as it wasn't "assigned" to me. Very frustrating. Apparently pre-ordering doesn't make a difference.

I wish I didn't have to leave a non-refundable deposit so I could find an alternative somewhere else.

Pre-ordered March 23rd, no VIN, no ETA.

Weren't you number 4 on their list originally? Does that mean they've recieved/sold their first 3 orders? Either way, that probably bumps me to number 4... although I doubt that would make a difference.
I'm also regretting putting down the non-refundable deposit. But at the same time, the approximated August ETA gives me more time to sort out finances, trade in, etc... Or I'm just trying to justify to myself that I made the right decision. Who knows...

I was originally 2 out of 6. Then I heard they had 8 allocations, so 2 out of 8. When I spoke with James was week, he told me I was #1 out of 8. No sure what happened to the original #1.

Now Stivers has gotten a pre-ordered silver BRZ (don't know the pre-order number) and an "extra" Limited WRB BRZ, which is now sold.

I spoke with SOA and they said Stivers Subaru placed 7 orders, not 8. Not sure where 8 is coming from.

It would be nice just to get a VIN and ETA. I'll cross my fingers for a June/July delivery...I hope yours comes in by August.

I hope by this fall we all have our pre-ordered BRZ's! My CBS Premium with spoiler should get to Troncalli Subaru by the end of July if all goes according to plan. I'd be down for a local group photoshoot and North GA mountain drive if my BRZ is out of the break in period by then!

Yet another failure on Stivers Part. I'll have to let my buddy there know that they could have sold you the car and didn't.

I really hope that stealership closes soon. They suck at life.

Supposedly James spoke with SOA and was told that they couldn't sell the "extra" car to me as they would "get into trouble"...maybe lose an allotment?

I don't believe it. I believe they decided they could mark this "extra" one up and make some quick profit. Of course, just speculation on my part.

my contact up there says James is so full of shit it's not even funny. Typical sales person. :sigh:

Blech... Hopefully we don't get screwed over in the end... Contacted SOA with my VON. They're going to get back to me by the end of the week with the status of my order, although if kwood doesn't have a VIN yet, I'm not getting too hopeful.

Finally have an ETA of August. Recommend checking with your dealer or SoA.

Nice! Do you have a VIN? And did you get the info from James or SOA? I really need my car to come in now... my current beater is falling apart on me...

No VIN. SoA returned my call the other day and provided an estimate of August/September. James then emailed me with an update on Friday showing the output from the Subaru Ordering System with an estimated arrival of "Month of August-2012". Hopefully this doesn't change.

called SOA, and got a tentative ETA of August too :D Looks like our cars are on the same boat. Should be getting the VIN within 3 - 4 weeks, hopefully :happyanim:

Doesn't sound like Stivers Subaru is a place I want to deal with.. I hope you get your BRZ soon though. Thanks for posting your experiences so others like myself will know.

Finally received my VIN and ETA (8/19)!

Thanks! CBS MT Limited. I was going back and forth between WRB and CBS. Planning to get some tint to cut the Atlanta heat back a bit

CBS looks great!

I'll probably get 3M Crystaline, which is supposed to cut down the heat quite a bit, even at lighter tints. It's not the cheapest, but might be worth it.

Congrats to both chandz05 and kwood9000. I've been watching to see when the ATL would see some deliveries ... seems like ages, but so worth the wait! Looking forward to seeing you on GA-400. :thumbup:

Glad to hear everyone's getting theirs! Just curious, since I'm looking at getting a FR-S soon... what made you choose the BRZ over the FR-S? The brand? The front bumper/lights? Or was there something about the interior/suspension?

Was it enough to justify the slight bump in price?

For me it was an easy decision.

My wife and I love the Subaru World Rally Blue (WRB) color, the looks of the front bumper/lights, the dual climate control (my wife always wants it colder), nav system, keyless entry, etc. Consumer Reports also just rated Subaru the highest in reliability.

I was also considering the FR-S. To me, the the options/interior upgrade of the BRZ is definitely worth the price, especially since I will be using the car as a DD. That was the driving factor that led me to get a limited trim BRZ.
Also, the general experience me and my family have recieved from Toyota dealerhips that we've visisted/dealt with in the past and recently have been sub-par, at best. Subaru dealerships, on the other hand, seem more friendly and "customer caring" from what I've seen so far.

I definitely know what you mean about the sub-par Toyota experiences. Doesn't sound like kwood9000 had a good experience at Stivers Subura from above.. I guess dealership treatments can vary drastically no matter which brand you're at.

I assume you bought from Subaru of Atlanta.. in Roswell? based on your posts above? Did you try any other Subaru dealerships?

Actually im also buying from Stivers. The only "bad" thing i can honestly say about them is the markup on the car. so far, they've kept to their word with whatever they've told me (August delivery, pricing etc) and have always replied to emails/ phone calls.
I can say though that Troncalli and Subaru of Kennesaw are great to work with. I originally inquired with them about the car, but all their allocations were already spoken for at the time. But then months later, they call/email me asking if I was still interested since someone backed out. I was pretty surprised that they did that.

That's great to know.. Honestly, I could go with either a FR-S or BRZ, as long as the experience is good, and I get exactly what I specify.
