Why all the "big" turbo kits @ low boost
Why is there no 300whp max turbo kits out there? Or is there? Seems silly to run 10 psi on a 25+psi capable turbo. All you are is enjoying lag and barely in the turbo's efficiency range...
I'm looking for a 16g/18g sized kit where are they? |
Full Blown has a nice list of Turbos that are optional that you can upgrade to. Most of these units can be tuned for more power, but without internals there is a limit. Of course we can throw a big turbo on it, and just let it ride, but I'm sure you don't want a blown motor of course.
Just another reason why full blown has several turbo options instead of just one or two set turbos. Some guys want the option to upgrade later down the road when they do want internals, some guys are just looking for 300rwhp and be done with it. |

My kit is running 16psi with approximately 325 whp (Treadstone kit with BW 6258 EFR turbo).

Boost is pressure. Pressure on internals not designed for added pressure = boom, OR rod to the knee.

There are benefits to running a larger turbo on less boost. PSI is a measure of pressure not volume, so say 10psi on a little turbo is not the same volume as 10psi from a large turbo.
Also if you have to wring out a little turbo to make that 10psi it is going to introduce more heat into the charge then a big turbo that doesn't have to work as hard. So a street car running pump gas and daily running around it can be advantageous. If you want a smaller turbo kit look at the AVO or Greddy |

Lets see, 3582, more overhead, although the 3076 provides quite a bit of overhead itself, both sound like jet engines...3076 may spool earlier, i think? the 3076 sounds like a better all around option to me.
