List of Recommended Shops in New England

Every now and then someone asks us here where a good _____ shop is. I figured I'd start a reference for us with body shops and performance shops. I don't have any first hand experience with any of the performance shops around though I've heard good things about Kaizen so I'll include them. Please feel free to post up your recommendations and any reviews that you have.

Chewie4299: They are a division of Mauro Motors which is the biggest dealer of luxury vehicles in the area. They do incredible work. I've taken my Jeep Wrangler and FR-S there and you'd never have known there was a problem. They go the extra mile to make sure it's done right and as painless as possible.

We got Weapons Grade Performance here in Wallingford. They dropped the LS motor into the BRZ but I've heard zero on their customer service or workmanship.

Anyone know anything more about them?

I met the guy at WBM last year, that's about all I know. He seemed cool as hell

Not the only thing they're dropped in the BRZ. Now they're apparently doing a VR38DETT project.

Anyway, can't say anything positive or negative about their business. I'll just say one of them has a poor attitude.

This is what I have heard as well. One of the guys there has a crap attitude from what I've heard but I can't remember who, it might be the owner.

I've met the owner a few times. He seems nice enough, if a bit cocky.

I went to high school with some of the guys that work at/hang around at the shop and am not surprised by the comments above. Everyone can change so I'll keep an open mind.

Based off what I've heard about them I'd recommend making the trip to Branford to visit Excelerate.

Phothiraj 02-20-2014 12:51 AM

yeah been having some back luck lately with my car. Got out of work one day to find 4 lugs taken off my car and a dent under the front driver side fender. Then the other day i find paint stripped to metal just under the passenger side door.
