Needing coilover opinions
If you could buy fortune 500 coilovers for just a little more than BC coilovers, which would you buy? I'm faced with this dilemma at the moment. I can get fortunes for not even $200 more than the bcs. I'vE also heard that I need to set back around $150 for a part on the fortunes that doesn't just come with them like they do bcs so I may be paying too much more that way. My needs are to be lowered around 3". It's my daily driver so I want a really smooth ride. There's a slight possibility that I may pick up a cheap daily driver then track the frs so I am just trying to make the smartest decision here. Trying not to go over $1400 for coilovers and control arms. Any advice?

And I am aware of dampening, spring rates, and all that stuff. I'm just needing a general opinion of which you find superior

If you are daily driving your car, why not put some Tein coilovers on it?
I have Teins on my S14 and Tein's on our FR-S, and the ride / stance etc. is perfect for a daily driven car. I suggest PM'ing @CSGMike or one of the other helpful vendors on this forum for more information about which coilovers fit your needs Nick C. |
How low is your frs? I'm trying to be around 3". I know that bcs ride good for lowered/ stanced so I'm unsure about the tein. I have tein springs right now that it's lowered on. I live in Alabama and the roads are TERRIBLE so the ride is very important. And also back to the fact that I may change dailys and Track the frs so I would like to have good coilovers and not have to keep changing

I don't think street basics have camber plates either. I need at least 2 degrees of camber front and back so I have to have camber plates

One of my co-workers is lowered on BC coils and the ride is pretty harsh compared to our FR-S. You can always buy different mounts for the camber adjustment IIRC.
I'm not sure how low we have ours set, but I always recommend Tein's for daily driven cars Nick C. |
I doubt you're going to get a "really smooth ride" with a 3" drop on coilovers under $1400 minus whatever you spend on LCA's.
That being said, I've heard good things about RSR Black-i coils for extreme lowering + street comfort. Above your price point, but not by much. |
From what I'm seeing on their website those don't even lower two inches
