Moto-East EcuTek RaceROM and Tune Update!
We are ramping up the updates and product catalog.
First and most importantly, the Subaru ZA1B01C/B01D/etc... ROMs are out. From now on we're basing all of our new tunes off of the new 2014 revisions (compatible with 2013 ECUs) and these will be e-mailed with our latest tunes. This means that this week while we update, we will be lagging a bit behind. I expect by next saturday we should be all caught up. Doesn't help that the MX-5 RaceROM release coincided and we have tons of those to do. If you have RR5V7 maps from us you do NOT need the update, as the things it fixes like the transient and idle, we've already done before. However, the RR7 features below are new. New features with RR7: Updated datalogging: This is HUGE as we can finally see real knock counts and learning. You won't see this on any other platform, and it enables us to much easier to hone in on perfect timing numbers. Revised throttle mapping: With the new RaceROM maps we can control throttle based on vehicle speed. With this you can have reduced boost on forced induction vehicles at low speeds without issues. Improved Speed Density/Hybrid SD: This has been present since RR6, but now we can control the VE directly and it makes for more precise fueling. We use this on Vortech/KW/JRSC/Turbo maps. Atmospheric Flex Fuel Correction: As a few users here have identified, the existing flex fuel method of using the EVAP input leaves the Atmospheric correction incorrect. New RR7 fixes that by using the MAP sensor. Rear O2 input: With the rear o2 sensor being used for monitoring catalyst efficiency, for "off-road" vehicles we can use the input to feed a real wideband o2 signal (i.e. innovate, zeitronix, or AEM) into the wire. You can also use this as the budget flex fuel signal. No harness required, just tap the o2 sensor wires. Individual Cylinder Fuel Trims: Thought you'd need a standalone for this? Nope. It is now able to be adjusted via custom maps. But if you don't have EGT sensors in each you probably won't use this much ;) Live Tuning! (sort of): Now that we have the rear o2 as an intercept signal, you can set up a two pot box with a 0-5v output using a power supply if on a dyno, or a rigged USB battery pack (both with a pot to control voltage). This means you can use the EVAP and rear o2 signal to test VVT or DI timing via custom maps. Really cool stuff for more extreme setups. Now for Moto-East specific stuff, these are the big developments since last year: Stock fueled Innovate Kits even on E85 with small pulleys. We can make it work if you want to save a few hundred on injectors. This requires overdriving the DI, but we can do it. Improved RR based Transition/Traction control Unlike the stock system that cuts throttle and is very jerky, we can have a gradual decrease in HP without the roughness. Thanks to some racers who tested this for us, we have a more effective algorithm. Flex Fuel! We've tuned the other flex fuel kits, but we've decided to make our own so we know exactly what we're dealing with. Pre-order link here for $50 off: http://www.moto-east.com/store/moto-...fuel-ft86.html Automatics! Oddly enough we have had a surge in AT customers the last few months, and thanks to their patience and feedback we've been able to stiffen up the shifting some. This is most noticeable in the 3200-4000 range where it seems to slip, and in manual mode where shifting is crisper. Cam Timing We've updated this for catted headers, non-cat headers, and forced induction setups to minimize tip-in knock. Note that we DO NOT disable the reported KR. This is just some of the stuff, we'll update as we progress with the new features. Big thanks to the community that has supported us this last year. It is a tough market but we make sure our folks get the best we have to offer, and really appreciate the patience that many have shown as we learn the platform and make strides with tuning. |
Exciting update!

Pm me more info on the shifting tuning pls been waiting on someone to make shifts on the automatic faster!:):):)

Nice! Will the tune make the shifts faster?

Just ordered my FF kit. Great price, yeehaw!

Sound like good stuff :).

Its no secret I'm a huge OFT supporter but these are some impressive updates. Keep up the good work

So in playing with the WBO2 rear input we have something new for turbo customers...real semi-closed loop AFR control under boost.
Typically you can't run full time closed loop due to the wideband issues with stock units. They just aren't accurate. Now we can take the auxiliary input and get a signal from a real wideband. We can then use that with our RaceROM mapping, to create a compensation map that will increase fueling to ONLY enrich the AFR. This means that it will never learn towards the lean side, but only richen it up. Much like a "failsafe" device, only much smarter since instead of just a "ON" or "OFF" state, it will adjust fueling back to rich without ever reaching the dangerous lean condition. Cool stuff! We can do this on NA and turbo cars as well, though the application is more limited since both of those are much less variable. |
For NA cars we are rolling out an update that increases top end power. Also the RaceROM traction control/aka transition control is much improved. We've fine tuned the setting even more to give a very precise level of slip without false triggering.
Dyno of the last pump gas tune revision on a smaller perrin intake and agency power header...note the low starting HP and the massive gains! https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...08582371_n.jpg We've also finished doing the B01D revision with RR7 for all the newest AT tunes, just sent out a couple in the last few days with awesome results! That covers both the innovate, turbo, and rotrex based kits. MTs have been using B01C w/RR7 since release. Innovate tunes have been updated as well. If you have a tune from april or earlier, contact so we can update it to the latest. The latest offers improved MPG, better throttle response, more power on IC systems. Also we may have to raise our prices to better match our competitors. Though we have been operating as efficiently as possible to keep prices down despite the increasing cost of the GBP, we may have to increase costs so we do not have to sacrifice customer service or quality. |

I have a HFC 2.5" front pipe now to compliment my JDL UEL header and 2.5" overpipe. I'm still chasing down that last 6whp to put me over 200 on E85 with your FF kit and tune, lol. It's silly but I can't help but lust for that magic n/a number. |
Have you had any nameless header in your hand to tune?
