Flex Fuel Kit?

So i want too run E85, im a bit iffy about remote tuning on my baby. However Delicious Tunings numbers look awesome on E85.

Basically i wanna run E85 but im unsure about just running a straight E85 map, since we have a total of 6 E85 pumps in the largest State in Australia. I also cannot switch maps due to not having a cruise control stalk at the moment, need to mod it back onto the car after an aftermarket steering wheel swap.

So...tl;dr who sells flex fuel kits, excluding FA20crap and Visconti.

We've done flex fuel mapping for the other kits, but will have our own ready for release next week if all goes well. E85 you can expect ~200whp on a dynojet. Header helps spread the HP gain more.

Markup on flex fuel kits is insane. Some sell for $750+ when it amounts to a couple fuel lines and a $300 box/sensor. If you have a shop that can do the lines or do them yourself, it's way cheaper to just order the stuff straight from zeitronix, wire it in and get it tuned.

I'm putting mine together now and I'll be out the door for under $400 or so. It's also the only way to know you're getting quality parts given the currently available options. I'd be interested to see moto-east's kit though, since I'm sure it will be of better quality than what's out now.

I should of mentioned im Using the Sprintex Supercharger (Innovate stage 2).

I'll keep an eye out, i'm currently working on getting the cruise control switch put back on.
@jamesm a local shop wants to charge me $1500 for parts and install lol, all things considered $750 for parts then a DIY install is still attractive for me.

Tbh once the cruise control switch is back in i would be happy to run a E85map alongside my 98RON (93AKI) map, my concern is the switching with fuel still in the line causing the engine to be running on the wrong map for the first bit of fuel.

Especially the fact that they charge over 100$ for a harness adapter.

@PrimeMotoring 's uses AN fittings and provides and adapter for 570$, that's pricey but I guess it's the fittings and also way reasonably priced than other kits that piss fuel.

@PrimeMotoring has a solid kit for a good price, and have tuned several cars on it. I just don't trust doing fuel system work myself. I don't want another car-b-cue.

this seems to be the motif of all the products for this platform. I guess this community is still lacking a lot of DIYers except for a very few like yourself that can help bring these prices down.

Kit is as follows:

Fully uses AN fittings with no-cut fittings
Zeitronix ECA with sensor/plugs/harness
Plug and play ECU harness using evap, or you can use the rear 02 signal for 100 less. (but the rear 02 input will disable the rear o2 trim and not be emissions compliant, you'll also lose the extra wb02 input)
Braided ethanol compatible hose
Tune INCLUDED if you're our customer. If not you can upgrade at 199 NA, 249 FI SC, 349 FI Turbo if you have hardware. Otherwise it is 799 with no charge for flex fuel mapping (NA, add 50 and 150 for SC / turbo)

You can do the math, but the ECA is 379, the harness is 150, and the fittings are well over $100 to use brand name ones. A note on the harness adapter: The harness ends are not available from subaru and have to be custom molded. They then require a tech to sit there and pin each end meticulously. Then solder the 20+ wires and shrink and seal them, and it is done in the US with competent folks and not child slaves. That's why they are expensive.

Ours will price at 649, but we can only afford that because we are a Zeitronix distributor and get harnesses made in bulk. 750 is not unfair given the time needed to assemble and QC and getting the parts in smaller quantities.

New eca2 is 300, and you can still use the CPC sensor input for a wideband (which you'd disable rear trims for in the other case anyway). 649 is the best deal running now on an assembled kit though. if i were in the market and wanted plug and play that'd probably be the way i'd go. diyers can still save a bunch of money, though.

Correct but that does not include the gauge. You want the gauge. The reason why is that the ECU does not have a CEL trigger if it fails, so the only you'll know is if you see something bizarre like a a 0 or a 99--neither of which are present in US fuel these days and would indicate an open or a short. Not a bit deal for NA folks since it will run like crap and you'll know it, but perilous for FI folks.

Good call. Going to get a gauge now that you mention it lol. Or maybe an led could suffice. I really just don't want a gauge in my car. Rice rice baby lol. Maybe keep it in the glove box if my led idea doesn't work out.

Actually couldn't you theoretically set another custom map with a threshold below say 5 or so (whatever you'll never realistically be under as far as ECA) on the other custom map's output (ECA scaler) then just have that map trigger the cel and do whatever else you want? If you do activate below threshold ~5 (or 2, or whatever) you'll only activate if it goes open unless you put ethanol free gas in the car, which I don't think I've ever seen around here. Just an idea.

Too much $$$. Can't justify it. It is nice, though.

Visconti and FA20 was 550 with plastic fittings lol

I love boost!!!!!!
