Full Blown, stage 2 turbo kit
Reason for purchase:
I wanted more power, I wanted style, and I wanted an extremely good fit. I've been a customer of Full Blown since 2001 with my various DSM projects. (still using that double fuel pump assembly :respekt:) Quality: 5/5 There isn't anything I could say bad about this kit. I love it. It looks badass and sounds badass. Money well spent and Full Blown has proved yet again why I have repeat business with them. That and the 1,500+ fanbase the "green monsta" has now, can't be wrong.. Install: 4.5/5 I'm not gonna say who, but I did help a friend install a different turbo kit literally 3 weeks before I installed my FBM Stage 2. I had ordered my kit right about the same time I was installing my friend's unnamed kit. I started having serious doubts, SERIOUS, doubts that I would regret my purchase. I'm happy to say that the fitment is superb. Full Blown cares about their products and how they fit, it shows. I marked a half point off though, reason below. Packaging: 4/5 I'm gonna have to mark FBM down a bit here though. I know my fedex guy hates me, I get it, you get it. So far every part you've sent to me has been damaged in some way, it seems unreal... You could say it's a fedex problem, you could also say that maybe care in packaging, or extra care would have saved these parts. I get that you have insurance with Fedex, the problem is when your customers spend this much money only to have to wait extra time because shipping damage, it kinda sucks. I have a solution for this below. Solution: First I want to say that LJ @ FBM has been just awesome. You can't buy customer service like that. That aside, I have 2 ideas for shipping issues. First, allow your customers the option to ship with a different courier, I actually prefer UPS. I would have paid extra for this. They are great and packages show up on time and undamaged. Second, train whoever does the packaging, to wrap fragile ends, pipes, connectors, etc with extra cardboard in such a way that if the package is dropped it doesn't render the item useless. (Also tell them never to put plastic fans on top, around, or beneath a heavy object like an intercooler, the first fan I got was shattered..) This shouldn't cost you more, but does incur more time in prepping the shipment, it's worth it though. Tweaks: Because Stage 2 (and because RACECAR) This is a special section. Stage 2 hasn't been out long and I don't know of many that are customer installed/driven as of right now. Make your SPAL fans part of the Stage 2 kit. Those generic fans will melt where the wires connect in the center to the fan motor, especially in hotter climates. You guys have to remember that not all of us are in the north pole (MN). The other part of this, gripe, would be to possibly revise the downpipe angle. I'd rather it be straighter instead of bowing out towards the front of the car, (towards the fans). There should be plenty of room for a straighter pipe. I also had to modify the position of the FBM rad/shroud/fan unit. Not really a fault, but seems like some improvement could be made to make this fit a little better with stage 2. I would buy from FBM again though, if only because of customer support. Thanks again LJ. |
I'll add that this is the easiest kit to tune that I've yet experienced. Great maf location and ID injectors make for easy drivability tuning. This is a big deal for anyone paying a tuner an hourly rate, or who wants a car that drives well at parking lot speeds with little fuss.

So jelly.
I should probably see what it costs to upgrade the stage 1 to 2. |
