WTF is up with the CA license plates?
 

Is it me or they are very flimsy? My license plate for the rear is bent inwards and I can't get it to stay flat. Has anyone else notice this?

Yeah they are pretty flimsy once they get bent it is really hard to get them straight. Happened to me before just took forever to get it back to normal.

ah idk. I kinda straightened my front license plate on my older car after it bent inward from hitting a mountain wall. I just stepped on it haha

I didn't want the bottom edge of my rear plate rubbing against the body of the car (trunk lid) so I added a pair of adhesive foam pads to act as a spacer for the plate. Yeah there are (at least on my car there was) thin foam strips already there, but I added thicker ones and now my plate actually curves slightly outward. So you could try that, add some padding behind the plate.
