FT-86 3D Model in progress

1 Attachment(s)
Howdy all, I'm currently working on modeling an FT-86. This project is a personal challenge and would go a lot smoother if I had blueprints for the car. As it stands I'm having to work off reference pictures for the car, so I'm running into perspective issues. I'm trying to estimate as best as I can. So far I have a fender modeled, at least. Check back for updates as I post them.

Check out GranTurismo and look at their Three Dimensional model of the car

Ah, I forgot about that trailer. I suppose it could have some more useful angles for me to reference from. I wonder if they modeled it like I'm doing or if they got the concept from Toyota and scanned it in like Turn10 does with the cars for Forza 3

Polyphony probably got blueprints of some sort from Toyota.
Funny, I was thinking about trying this myself. But I started building an AE86 instead. :P

Not trying to thread jack, but here's a teaser render...

Still have lots to do myself.

Good luck with the project man. Keep us posted. :)

Yeah, blueprints are a little easier to come by on a car that's been around for over 20 years.
I fixed an issue that I had with the fender (I didn't notice the crease in the side of the car that runs from the fender vent to the tail lights) and have a door now! :bonk:
I'm not going to worry about the inside of the car... yet. I hope to have this finished by the end of the week. I don't expect this to be spot on, considering my source material. But, I hope to get pretty darn close

I would go with the "TORENO" nameplate.

Re-watch initial D. I think it's the first season where they used fake names on the cars to avoid lawsuits, but in subsequent seasons they used real names because the popularity of the show made it advertisement.

The original name on dude's hachi-roku is "TORENO".

Odd, no updates from the OP on his 3D FT.
Well, here's a little something on my 3D AE86...

Just did a test render of the brake lights. And decided to have some fun by stretching and tucking all four tires. Still working on it though. And no thanks, no TORENO badge for me.

Sorry, Work's been killing me. This model is a spare time one, of which I have little. The only update I have is that I have a door now. Without bluprints, this isn't an easy task to model the car.

Hey, I started my own 3D model just after the first shots of the FT-86 were released.

I just used those first shots that came out as back, front and side references. Heres some pics of how far i got before giving up lol.
