225WTQ at every RPM for normal driving & spirited driving. But I plan on having "fun" mode. :)

this guy has good photography skills btw

I honestly don't know what flow testing costs, but that's why I was hoping somebody in the community could get you in touch with some options or better yet do it on the cheap. There has been tons of speculation if the heads will be a problem flowing enough at high RPM or for high HP in general.

What's it cost to get this done these days? I would have to ask some friends as I don't have friends locally to do this. I'm def on a budget ATM as the build is becoming costly but I'm open to the idea.

I spent quite an amount if time over 4k. Seals looked good considering I did have DI pop pre-tune/boost which went away after flashing. I will get detailed pictures of all four for you. One DI has minor damage on what looks like a washer at the base before the seal. May have been from removal as we really had to tug to remove the DI from the cylinder with the failure in it.

A friend has the crank shaft I gave it to him. I will ask him to return it for photo this weekend for you. And every boot has been removed from he engine. Exception two Allen plugs in the block it's self. I even removed the cover from unused the bell housing in the back of the block.

I asked a friend to get me photos from the evening during tear down. I'll post some of those up when I get then. If I get some time I'll start with manifold, pistons, DI system tonight. :)

If someone in the SW region owns a shop and wants to flow test them ill pay shipping both ways! :)

Never mind this guy as no skill at all :slap:

Post #2 updated with Rod 1 bearings, DI's, Spark plugs.

P.S. My friend (Owner of Good Speed Performance in Arizona) has been helping me assemble my engine. He is sending me pictures of him doing clearances. :) I will post those in the other thread very soon!

nelsmar 02-15-2014 02:00 AM

The heads will take me a few to take pictures of. And I want to disassemble them. I'll take some pics tomorrow of them mostly assembled though. What else do we want photos of guys? :)

nelsmar 02-15-2014 11:42 AM

I'm picking up the intake manifold on my way home this afternoon and will get lots of detailed pics of it hopefully this evening. I talked to my friend who has he crank and he said he can bring it by tomorrow for photos. :)

Any more requests?

Damn nels... You know how to use a camera

Thank you so much for doing this! This is a HUGE help to the community. I have a few requests if you don't mind. How about pictures of the heads at all different angles. More importantly, I'd really like to see the ports- both exhaust and intake. Also, pictures of the split block at all angles would be nice too. Are the camshafts going to come off? I'd really like a good look at the AVCS units.

Thanks for everything!

FYI on Crawford, so anyone don't get confused. Several members (both non-vendor & vendor) reporting it vendoring without pay, but mods & admin didn't see any issue on posting those internal parts of the engine. Just in case, our boss just give them heads up, IF they do start advertising, they need to pay. From there Crawford went berserk.

Anyways on-topic, DAYUM! That's pretty bad. My heart was aching looking at it, I'm pretty sure it was same for you. If I may ask, how was crank area? (Crank shaft, bearing, & etc)

Pic of the inside of the timing chain cover?

Your welcome! :) I am going to run out and pickup a different lens that I leant a friend over the weekend right now. Then I can take pictures of half assembled heads. Currently they still have the valves installed as I have not removed them. Once I remove the valves I will gladly take some detailed photos of the ports. As I would need to remove the valves to light the ports up nicely.

The cams are free, however the AVCS units are still attached. I have not looked at them much. I can grab photos of at least the free cams and possibly remove the avcs internals if it isn't too much work.

I'll try and pickup the block later this week as I am making a trip right now to pick up some of the engine components for photos but the trunk will be a tad too full to transport the case halves. But I can get those late this week, at the latest this weekend. :)

Thanks for clarifying what happened. All I knew was what crawford had said so I wasn't quite sure. And the crank I actually didn't look at with too much detail but it actually didn't look too bad. I offered the crank to a friend and he was going to have it inspected. I am trying to meet with him today to see if I can pick it up so that I can take some pictures of it. I'll grab the bearings while I am out as well as the block is still sitting under the car. (it is not stored at my home at the moment)

I'll pick up the cover this morning while I am picking up the intake manifold! It is pretty covered in grease from when the engine went so I need to give it a quick clean up before putting it in the car. I should be able to post pictures of this in the afternoon!
