New 2015 Nissan Micra

A Canada-only B-segment car that will start at just under $10k Canadian, available in April (see press release). It's on display at the CIAS now.

Not half-bad looking, reminds me of that cute European Fiat 500 competitor we can't get over here. Canadian version gets retuned suspension with added front and rear sway bars and faster steering ratio. Weight unknown, but if it is under 2400 lbs the power to weight won't be too bad with 109 hp and 107 ft-lbs on tap. Looking forward to seeing if it is as agile as the press bumpf claims. Liking that red:

I wouldn't want to hit a moose in just about anything...

dem00n 02-15-2014 03:39 PM

Hey, not bad.

Nismo version too?

ZetaVI 02-15-2014 04:00 PM

Yeah, I kinda like it. I have no explanation for why.

True story:

In high school my buddy's mom wrote off and hospitalized herself by hitting a moose in a Chevy Sprint.

I wish cheap cars like this came to the USA, love to pick up something like this for my GF.

I think it would be cool to see some aftermarket support for this car. With that price and its decent looks I see a lot of potential.

I just took a poke around the interweb, 11.5 ish 0-60 times... too slow more me. That's to the point where I wouldn't feel safe driving it. Don't get me wrong, I prefer small cars, but the Accent has 30% more power for a similar weight. Just as a point of comparison.

It's not going to make much difference what passenger vehicle you're driving, it's not going to help if you hit a moose at speed.

Is that for the new model? I suspect not as I have not seen any reviews out there yet for it... One auto mag stated a weight of about 2100 lbs. If true according to a 0-60 calculator that should give a time of about 8.3 sec, a lot better than 11.3 -- and actually very respectable for a sub-$10k car. You may be seeing reviews of the Euro version which has a base 70 hp motor.

Went to the show on Saturday and the three they showed clearly shows where they cut money on. One of them had a wrap so I can't hold that against it (the wrap was terrible).

It's great value for a city-runabout but it offers some crazy options (like backup camera) which can add up insanely on the final price.
