Fill and paint? or PDR...
Hi guys.
Need some professional advice... I have a dent on my window quarter panel front passenger side A-Pillar. Dealers fault so they are going to pay for everything. The dealer agreed to fixing it by stripping the paint off the whole panel and filling it, then repainting the panel to match. It's the pearl white color. OR, Should I have a PDR guy work on it, already got estimates on it and all of them are saying they can remove the dent 80-90%, the plus side is that I get to Keep my factory paint. Dealer will still pay for it. What route do you think I should do? And why.... Thanks in advance guys! |
PDR for sure. I'll bet they can get it to look 100%.

Right now I am leaning more in on the full panel paint job since it will forsure "repair" the dent 100%... Just that I don't really trust the dealer anymore. I also don't really know the repercussions of getting a new job on the panel. Like how are they going to do it, what are they going to pull off, hows the quality, will they be able to match the paint well... Just stuff like that. All in all, I just want the dent completely gone. |
I would do PDR if I was in your situation. It's difficult to match a pearl white colour exactly so if there's a chance you can get it to look like nothing happened with PDR, take that chance.
Maybe make it clear to your dealer that you want to try PDR and if it doesn't work, then the fill and repaint option, and hopefully your dealer will take you up on that because if PDR works, it's less money that the dealership has to spend, and that might be a chance they're willing to take as well. Find the best PDR place in your area and have your dealer pay to have it fixed by them. |
