I always have a security guard sitting on my roof 24/7.
And the trunk monkey. The trunk monkey always kills the intruder. Always. But seriously, it's a $25,000 car and I have pretty good insurance. If anything happens to it, I pay my $500 and I'm back to where I was before whatever happened. |
NRA Life member sticker driver side rear passenger 'window' and parking across the street from my house in view of my home security cameras. I have street parking a dashcam would have about 300 'events' per night to review. I just look my car over before I go to work then consult the home cameras if there was shenanigans.

What you want to be, is inconvenient. Thieves are looking for easy...don't make it easy. 1) Park you car near a street light if you have on street parking, a theif is more likely to steal from someone who parks their cars in poorly lit areas next to big uncared for bushes. 2)Buy the most annoyingly shaped wheel locks you can find because they dont want to take the time to rip them off (or park on a steep hill, they cant fight gravity while pulling your rims off). 3) Dont leave anything with a screen or an LED in your car. Flashing lights mean electronics = easy money. If you have your ipod connected in the car, throw it in your glove box or relocate the USB port. 4) Tint your windows and put your sun visor on even at night. People will think you are just protecting your leather or w/ever but you will make it more difficult to look into your car and without step3 they will have to shine a flashlight into your car to see anything. Your neighbors are more likely to call the cops on someone who is shining a flashlight into your car. 5) speaking of neighbors: Ask your neighbors to call you if they see anything fishy going on near your car (offer to do the same, give them a description of your families vehicles and offer to do the same for theirs). I park a block away and I reward my look outs with a nice Christmas baskets each year. Had one call me when someone hit my sisters car. The person who hit her car knew me because of my firearms habits they gave me a note claiming damages but I didn't have to ask, and I already knew. 6) Activate the stock alarm in your BRZ (if you have one) there is a DIY on here somewhere. 7) If you have firearms, wait for a nice day when everyone is out on their porches and go shooting. load your firearms into your cars (not each on the same day), this does the following. They know not to mess with your cars because people are afraid of people who own guns (for whatever reason) so they will tell you if someone does wrong to your stuff or tell you themselves, and second it tells the riffraff that getting caught messing with your stuff could cause extreme bodily injury which they try to avoid like the rest of us. |
I install Magnavolt on all of my vehicles.
