GI: Hydro dipping Rims - Toronto Area

Hey Guys,

Just gauging interest for how many of you would be interested in Hydro Dipping your rims or car parts. You can do Interior or Exterior as long as 1 meter.

Hydro dipping is a relatively new but rather than explain it watch this.

So we can do if you just want rims then we have a set price or if you want misc. parts then we do a fixed discount. Just wanted to how many of you are willing to do this and what you plan to hydro dip. Also finish is great but for extra durability don't forget to have Opti-Coat Pro applied :)

Also here are examples from the actual shop we are going to be using. They do Grade A work.

I Hamza Nadeem of Get Detailed: Toronto's Superior Auto Detailer hereby swear I am not making a single penny from this offer. If caught lying I agree to the punishment of people egging me.

How much does something like this cost? For lets say 4 wheels? I think our stock wheels would look pretty good in carbon like this first clip.

Cool thread, I have just started playing with hydrodipping, hoping to expand out in the future myself :)

Were looking at $125 for each rim un-mounted but the more people we can get the better the discount.

I saw this on Wheeler Dealers, they got equally impressive results. They did interior trim in CF-look and it was pretty cool.

LOL!! Digi-camo on the rim that's awesome. Wish I have a digi-camo Spyderco to go with it.

By unmounted do you mean giving them the bare rims, or that the price includes unmounting and mounting the tires?

If it's bare rims, I sure hope the price includes clear coat and opti coat? That's a decent amount more than powder coating with less durability. It can do much more intricate patterns though.

That it is cleaned, sandblasted, primed, painted(paint matching available), dipped, cleared, sanded and polished for $125. Which is a lot of work, and the film is expensive too. He uses automotive primer and paint, and has the same durability that you would expect from any car paint shop. If you give him the rims with tires on then it's $150.

So basically you get rims coloured in whatever colour you want and then get them Hydro dipped. Opti-Coat is extra :)

Life span is as long as you maintain it. It's the same paint quality that's on your car.

Hey guys, my friend Hyperion^ here to help answer questions you may have towards Hydro dipping, he's also a car wrap geek so he know what you should get wrapped and where. As he states, the company is going to putting on clear coat on the rims and they use good quality clear coat, cure it for the proper amount of time and spray EVENLY <- problem with many powder coaters. If you use acid to wash the rims, I guarantee they're not going to last but protecting the clear coat means protecting the finish. Whether it be washing and using rim wax or whatever.
