Painting the J2

I'd rather not spend as much to ceramic coat the J2 exhaust as I paid for the exhaust itself, so I'm considering using high-temp paint on it. Would it be safe to paint the entire catback, or is there any I should avoid?

The intent is to prevent rusting.

I just picked up some of this:
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-248903-Automotive-12-Ounce-Degree/dp/B003CT4AKC/"]Rust-Oleum 248903 Automotive 12-Ounce High Heat 2000 Degree Spray Paint, Flat Black - Amazon.com[/ame]

I haven't used it yet but plan to paint my tips once I get things situated on my car.

Is that for form or function?

I just don't like the polished/chrome look.
