New Impreza with FB25
 

I thought the old GC Impreza 2.5RS was a fun to drive and great looking car. I wish Subaru would make the 2.5RS version of the current Impreza. Would be great niche between the WRX and Impreza sport. Forester's cost about $23K and the Impreza costs approx $19K. Maybe Subaru should make a new 2.5RS and sell for around $21K. Would anyone be interested in a new Impreza equip with the FB25 found in the forester with the six speed manual trans? Do you guys think this would be possible, or just :bonk:?

I had a 2001 2.5 RS and loved it, but that was mostly due to that body style and low weight. Subaru has been making 2.5 NA versions of the Impreza for nearly every model year, but they are getting heavier and heavier and the little 2.5 NA engine just can't keep up.

I think the Impreza should be kept NA for the everyman who just wants an AWD car, and the newly separate WRX line should be kept turbocharged for the sport-minded enthusuiasts. It's a platform that was designed around the rally car and a turbo just makes sense.

If they redesigned one of the platforms to be a smaller and lightweight AWD sport car, then I'd be interested, but that seems to confuse the markets they have.
