Tire Pressure Sensors Question

Just a quick noob question guys. I'm about to fit my aftermarket wheels on and I was asked if I wanted to install tire pressure sensors with them. I heard that without the sensors you can't turn off traction control or turn on sport mode. I was wondering if that was true or if there were any other consequences to not installing them? I can deal with checking the tire pressure myself so thats not an issue. If it matters at all the wheel size is 18x9.5 and the tire size is 245-35-r18. Thank in advance!!:thanks:

Not true and no consequences other than the light will stay on.

Not true, I autocrossed all last year with a sensor missing and the light on and had no trouble disabling traction control or sport mode.

Not required. I swap my racing wheels on and they do not have the sensors. Light will come and stay on, that's it.

I see so much discussion about this but I must not understand.

Why cant the tire pressure sensors just move to the new wheels?

They could if you want them too, just have to unmount the tires and transfer them over.
