Perrin Header?

I was looking at the Perrin blog about the updates on this car etc. It seemed like they were ready to get into working on the header for the twins.

However, I can't find anything about them starting or potentially making one. I love the quality and R&D they put into their cat back exhaust.

Just wondering if anyone has heard of rumors, or knows if they're not going to make a header

EDIT: It even seems they developed one but never put it out to the public?

I believe they opted out of the header and the front pipe for legalality on messing with the cats. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

The rumors i heard had more to do with poor results....due to difficulty I'd guess. Turbo tuning is much easier to show gains.

I remember seeing something about the discontinuation of the front pipes because of cat issues, however they sell them on their sti stuff right?

Perrin quality would be amazing on some headers

It's due to emissions legality that they are not doing any aftermarket parts that touch cats

From what i heard, the initial decision was to not do headers due to poor performance gains and not being able to justify the cost.

Edit: It looks like my source was wrong, and I stand corrected.

Hey guys, the main reason we did not develop a header is because of emissions reasons. The 1 header that we made did give gains, it's in the link that the OP provided.

We have a header for the EJ engines that has been out for years that works great and gives really nice gains, but those cars don't have a cat in the header.

What about the 99% of us that live in free states? There's a big market out there for catless stuff. It's a simple 'off-road use only' disclosure, just like every other aftermarket manufacturer has used since man discovered burnouts.

You have many options, and the list is still growing.

I know. I guess the question should be why artificially constrain your market so much.

To each his own, I just don't see the business logic.

Well I think the main thing for me is the time and quality that perrin stands for and has stood for in the subaru community for years. Not only that but having a full perrin system would be amazing!

Thanks for the response, it'd be amazing if you guys just put out a off-road disclosure! However, seems like its a bit too long in the tooth to fix this now
