Make Car Fast w/ No Turbo

Understanding that I don't want to void the warranty so quickly. I understand there is CAI and new Exhaust, reduction in spare tires will help. What else can increase horsepower lets say an extra 15-20?

I saw Perrin CAI can increase it by 9+ hp, Injen 9 - 12HP. Also to mention that new exhaust can increase between 1 to as much as 6 hp. I saw a Stage II CAI, but honestly I'm a little weary of those because I'm not sure why Stage II CAI differences between Stage I when I see both can produce just as much Horsepower as the other.

Mind you I'm a greenhorn so I don't know too much, so please enlighten me with your wisdom. I wish to find a way to push it to 250 without voiding the warranty.

Gains from mods are not necessarily "stackable", where you all the gains from each bolt on just adds onto the peak HP.

As for without "voiding" the warranty, you're pretty much SOL for reaching 250 WHP or maybe even crank HP without some form of forced induction

What he said ^^^

Basically impossible to get meaningful gains without voiding the warranty. Drive the car for 3 years/36K miles, enjoy it, then go with an aftermarket header/overpipe and a tune and you will see some great gains.

Toyobaru pretty much did everything possible to get the most power out of a NA 2 liter. Headers, Direct & Multi-port injection, DOHC, heck they just designed the dang thing. So at this point, there isn't much you can do. Honda got 240hp out of their S2000 but there is less friction in a Inline 4 than a flat 4 and Honda has a secret weapon. VTECH.

So basically its go boost or go home, companys try everything to get out of warranty anyhow. If they see you put a different screw in somewhere they could try and wiggle out of it. Just leave it until warranty is gone like the rest of us, it won't be to long.

warranty smarranty.. just get decent headers & a tune and enjoy your car A LOT more the first 3 yrs/36K miles than you would if it was stock.

Fast is all relative. If you want to make the car fast, invest in seat time and driver mod. This will make your car go fast without any turbo. I'm also pretty sure that you are not maxing out the limits of this car by any means nor are you really driving this car fast. After you have done some driver's courses and seat time, you can drive a lot faster too in all cars which makes this the mod that keeps on giving. This will also keep your warranty intact for the most part, except for a certain clause. haha

I have often been told you can find more time by upgrading the nut behind the wheel.:burnrubber:

Also, remember the dealer can only void the warranty if the aftermarket part played a role in the failure.

Might be a bit of a fight, but you'll eventually win if the part has no effect on the failure point.
