The NA FR record is held by the ASM S2000, which is 0:57.398....

Discuss :)

Is the Griffon still at the stock 200 hp or have they started tweaking the engine?

Yup, TRD Pistons, Conrods, and Camshaft.

DarkSunrise 02-03-2014 11:57 AM

Ah makes sense, didn't think they could find another 2-3 seconds without more power.

Love the Griffon!

That's still an incredible time considering the platform has been out for a little under 2 years. That snorkel is pretty sick. :)

ASM is a privateer (supposedly) and their widebodied S2000 ran a 57.398. Their "Street" setup just recently hit a 59.990 on street tires (Yokohama AD08R) and thus hold the NA Street tire lap record now.

I think we can expect that to be broken.

This has been the one problem I've had with the Griffon. They are putting down these great times on what appear to be full blown racing slicks. Even the non-street ASM S2000 was using street-able tires (A048, 60tw) which I imagine are a good second or 2 slower than actual slicks.

Don't get me wrong, the car is still very impressive and I'm doing what I can building my own car to follow their example, but I'd really like to see what it could do on less exotic tires.
