Virginia info

Hey,

I might go on vacation there in summer time (still tentative) & I need some info.

When is good month to go there (not too hot)?
What to do there (day time & night time)?
Is there some gearheads like me to do there?

Thanks

Not sure yet, that's what we're figuring out

Just say, we throw a dark at US map & it landed on Virginia lmao

I know it's very general & it's not specific area (sorry), but name all the places you can think please.

Thanks

South-ish you got the beaches, which is about 3 hours away from NoVA. Northern VA you get the DC and Arlington shenanigans. Go a little west of NoVA and you have mountains and scenery.

Beach?!?! There's a beach there?!?!

That sounds fun in the summer time!!! ...but doing some cruise in the mountain sounds fun too.

Thanks for the info

I hear the beaches can be ugly depending if there is an event happening. Hopefully someone from VABEACH can chime in for you about them.

You must REALLY be in the middle of nowhere............

VA Beach is good for tourism and what not, but due to it being near a major shipping lane the water isnt the best. If you're wanting decent beaches without the crowds I'd suggest going the few extra miles down to OBX(Outer Banks). Way better quality (:

Hm... good to know.

How bout mountain area? Good canyon cruise area?

You'd have to go further west for mountains. West of I-81 corridor. What state is the MON located in?

Hella far to drive to get to Virginia. If we're going there, totally flying there lol

You can hit the Blue Ridge Mountains in SW VA. That's where I'm from, you can find some great mountain roads there :). Nothing like the MidWest though.

Also, a lot more to do in Northern VA, but a lot less chance of spirited mountain driving. But it takes about four hours tops to get from NOVA to SWVA. In terms of best months, I'm not sure what temps you are used to. I wouldn't say it gets TOO hot in VA. Maybe worst in July. But most of the summer is about the same, unless you get into May, August, September.
