LiteCoin Mining

Anyone else mining?

I've started mining LiteCoin and Dogecoin recently. I'll hopefully be running three 7970s soon, and will probably be running them on LiteCoin for now. I'll see where the difficulty and market value goes for both and maybe switch over to Dogecoin somewhere down the line.

Eventually I wanna get my hands on an ASRock X81 Pro BTC motherboard and grab five powered risers. I should be able to add seven more cards to collection. I'll have my current two boards with two each and then the ASRock with six. 10 solid cards should put me at around 7 MH/s minimum and that's good money in any Scrypt currency!

What do you guys run if you mine? Any seasoned miners wanna give some advice? I'm still doing a hell of a of learning, and I'm trying to do it fast because I'm so late to the game! :bonk:

I have a dedicated mining rig with 2 7950's mining at hashco.ws which mines the most profitable coins and autotrades it to bitcoins... may switch back to middlecoin since it has more hashing power.

I also have a 30Ghash BFL bitcoin miner.

Need to RMA my R9 290X so I can add those ~800khash to my farm.

Also have a GTX470 mining protoshares since it sucks at mining anything else.

oh... and I have my i7 3770K mining XPM.

How do you think I've been paying for mods with a part time job while being a full time student :D

Here's a hindsight for you... I had 400 bitcoins when BTC was at 3 dollars... I sold at 7 :mad0259:

I might need to revisit this. I just got a R9 270X. I know it will mine a little bit better than my aging HD 5870

A 5870 can do up to 400 khash if set up right, hell a 5830 does 300khash all day... which is very good... a 270X does around 400 as well

I would rather do it on the 270X. Better performance per WATT... Hmm. Perhaps throw both cards into one system and have them both mine.... Wonder if anyone has tried that. I know you can have multiple cards, but not sure about multiple cards that are of different models (if that makes sense).

I've ran dual 7950's along with an nvidia card.

I've also dun 2 7950's and a 6770

I'll check the website out.

AND GODDAMN. Hindsight really is 20/20... that would have been $320,000 at $800/BTC...

Or 440000 at 1100... such fail

Is hashco.ws really worth it compared to just pool mining a single currency? Everyone says that LTC/Doge is really where one should focus, and I haven't really heard of hashco.ws till now.

Well... how many ltc a day are you doing? With hashcows or middlecoin you do about .01 per Mhash/s, ive had payouts as high as 0.023 btc with 1.5 mhash

The good thing about those pools is that it mines the most profitable alt coin at the moment and automatically trades it to btc so you dont have to

I've been thinking of building a mining rig, but curious about a few things. How is it working as part of a pool? How much BTC do you average a month from them? How many hashes do you normally contribute to the pool?

Is it even worth building a GPU rig for BTC or should I stick with a pool that focuses on other currency? The BFL prices are tough to swallow.

Gpu mining is only worth it to mine altcoins and convert to btc, to have any type of profitability with btc due to the high difficulty you need about 1terahash of mining, or 1000 giga hash... a vid card does only 800 mega hash, which is equivalent to like .000005 btc per day minin on a pool...

my 30ghash miner only does .005btc a day at current difficulty

Yup, Bitcoin GPU mining is obsolete now. It'll work for Litecoin or other Scrypt based coins for now, until someone finally builds some ASIC miners for those.

With LTC at 1500 KHs, it should net about 0.43 LTC a day, or 0.0113 BTC.

With Dogecoin it's about 0.0138 BTC or 0.52 LTC.

That's not real world numbers, that's just calculations. So it definitely will be less...
