I have nothing against clarification and explanation. An honest answer by you would've been "roadside assistance is useless for a new BRZ" w/o trying to paint me as a cheapskate trying to save $10.

Oh yeah, that's right... glad to have provided you with some info though. How've you been? Haha.

As a side note (since we're both in SoCal), I'm pissed I didn't go to Cars & Coffee this past weekend in Irvine... they had the Scion FR-S there. A friend of mine sent pics to me, and he got to sit inside it and stuff. I think it was also at Weenie Roast, also the same day.

It was just a joke. Sorry if you took it the wrong way or if it appeared differently to others.

So chip! Got quoted ~$1300/yr full coverage $500/$500 for FRS/BRZ. SoCal, 25 yr old, 2 cars (including the AS1) on the policy.

Hey I paid my dues. When I first got my license I paid 2800/year for my old beat up 1996 Maxima which was worth about $500:bs:

My first car was a 1988 Honda Prelude. Paid $167/month when I was 16. Don't remember if I had full coverage though. So I've paid my dues as well. It's just so spensib here in SoCal. Damn you statistics for making the rest of us pay up the wazoo in rates!

yeah... I wish I could get back all that money I donated to other crappy drivers

I got a quote from my State Farm agent today. They didn't have 2013 Subaru in the system so they had to do a custom quote.

$239 every six months

$100 deduct on comp and $500 on collision
250/500/100k coverages along with 250/500 for uninsured motorist

34 years old, married/kids, high credit score, no tix or accidents, mulitple car, multiple line, etc..

I can't fathom the $1000+ quotes you guys are sharing.. yikes!

My mother works as a paralegal for a large law firm here in Buffalo, NY. When I go to visit my parents she always tells me horror stories of having to deal with certain companies. Mainly Geico. Steer clear of 'the gecko' they are absolutely horrendous.

We have auto insurance under USAA Auto. I believe you have to be a vet to get in, both my parents are. Dirt cheap, no hastle whatsoever with claims. I just pay them my part of the insurance bill.

When I get an exact quote I will post it.

But again:
STAY CLEAR OF GEICO :bonk:

I sense the insurance rates climbing as i post....yikes

Current Car:
2011 Legacy 2.5 - $96/mo.

BRZ Premium - $114/mo

23 years old, single, 1 ticket, no accidents. Using Geico.

So my insurance premium is going up about $300/yr going from a $53,000 Audi S4 to a $28,000 Subaru or a $25,000 Scion. Car costs half as much... WTF?!

I guess Audis and their drivers must be a lot safer!

DeeezNuuuts83 05-17-2012 11:50 AM

Basically. Again, the vehicle price is just one factor of insurance, hence why a $30,000 Evo is more expensive to insure than pretty much any car below $100,000.
