hankook v12 road noise
i just put v12s on some new wheels and have noticed mush more road noise then the stock BRZ wheels.
i was expecting similar levels of noise or quieter. does everyone else also have more road noise from these? |

Agressive "V style" threads are quite noisier than standard "blocks" thread. Not always the case but a good rule of thumb. Mostly right in my experience. I hate tire noise.
Also make sure they wear evenly, scalloped tires will be even noisier. |
okay, Thanks

i have them and dont notice too much road noise, they might quite down as they wear in. did you have them balanced as well?
|
not yet, going to do that in a week or so, after my newly installed coilovers settle

Hankook performance line is not well known for having quiet tires. And as they wear they get much worse.
The RS3s I actually changed at 4/32nds because they were so loud on the street it was giving me headaches. |
Aside from the noise, what do you think of these tires? They're almost half the price of other tires I've looked at and I really don't want to spend $800 on a set of tires. I also don't want to cheap out on them too.

I like them alot, sidewalls are flexy but its not a deal breaker. The break in period was the longest i ever had though. For the price theres realy no room to complain.

Cool. How many miles have you put on them?
|
Maybe 5,000. Lots of mountain passes and 2 track days. Plenty of tread left
