FR-S styled after Prius?
compare
noticed this when i saw a Prius today, both cars have a oddly waved hood to accent the front logo, also both have the turn signals down low in the styled bumper slots. correct me if I'm wrong..though toyota designed both..so not surprising really. http://i.imgur.com/YW5lC.jpg http://i.imgur.com/9sQxV.jpg |
I think its probably just because of Toyota's overall design language. There are certain elements they use across cars to help you know at first glance it is a Toyota (or GM, or Ferrari, or whatever).
|
It's like how mazdas have that weird grin now. Toyota seem to have lines radiating from the logo.
|
I get what you're saying, but I don't see it.
|
You guys all missed the obvious! It's the same tires!

Maybe they should have named it the Prius-S, or even better, the AT version could be the PA-S and the MT version could be the PM-S.... Ugh never mind. |

Here's a thread explaining the misconception behind the "Prius" tires http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3500 |
Lol guys, it was just a joke...

Lol, just incase he actually didn't know. Those journalist are so craft twisting the truth and spreading rumors lol

The antennas look the same too
|
Poor man's LFA yo!
|
the way the front sides of the bumper are remind me of a camery the way it moves down and out. So I dont know where you got a prius from.

It's all Toyota's design language, as was stated earlier. Line up any manufacturer's offering of vehicles and you'll see similarities between most, if not all of them. The BRZ's front bumper shares design language with its model offerings as well.

^ right there! LOL

I'm biased since my wife and I just bought a Prius, but the new generation looks kinda aggressive.
As far as it looking like the 86... I think others here have already answered that. I think it's just the Toyota "theme." It's kinda amazing how talented car designers are; to mix styles but to also make the cars stand on their own. A rare breed. |
All the new Toyotas look like fish to me. The 86 is the biggest fish of them all, a giant catfish. Those creases in the 86's front bumper aren't helping at all for its side-profile, either.

I think this is one of the sexiest cars out right now and it has the same logo lines coming off. |
