Coilovers or bracing?
I'm curious what do you guys think is a better step in my car's development?
This is my weekend/spririted driving/amateur autocross/amateur trackcar/2nd car (when my daily driver is unavailable). It doesn't have to be super street friendly/or overly track oriented. Something of a middleground. So far I've done: Wheels and Tires (18" Yokohama Neova AD08) Slotted Rotors (still stock size) Pads (Carbotech XP12) Brake Fluid/Brake Lines Exhaust (Invidia N1) Right now I'm up for chassis or suspension. I'm thinking on going for a midprice suspension (around $2000), but I've noticed that for the same amount of money I could do springs, camber bolts/plates (whatever I need to get my alignment right) and brace the heck out of the car (strut tower bars, sway bars, all sorts of bracing). Oh, and I forgot to mention, roads here are bumpy, speedbumps, potholes, you name it, we got it. What do you guys think is a better step for an amateur autocrosser? |
Coilovers, then bracing if needed.

Get a well balanced set of coilovers.
Bracing will not make as big a difference and they can be used to fine tune your car alter on. |
Coilovers will certainly make a larger difference but bracing shouldn't be over looked. When done correctly bracing will tighten the "5th spring" of the car, the chassis.
And when I say correctly I just mean the well designed braces not bling factor ones. |
PM'd you back!
