Looks like I'll have to "escalate" the case with Toyota not honoring their warranty. Hopefully some of the fold that already had the repairs done under warranty will give me a hand. @ravenstig @tunami @tracerit @xlid007 @MastasmurF @LavosTRD
I will be contacting the national office to let them know about this common defect including my case that was denied warranty. |

I cleaned the two mating points before re-greasing with the hi-temp stuff & I noticed the fork appears coated/painted but the contact point seemed scuffed & a little corroded which might explain the squeak. Thank You for this informative & effective solution - I hope it lasts another 2.5 years. ps: clutch actuation now also smoother :D |

I've observed that simply pulling the fork forward and swinging the whole assembly in a direction it doesn't normally see seems to at least temporarily quiet down the squeak. I'm guessing some existing lubricant is picked up and spread around when we do this. @Decay107, it is time for us to get on the DIY. Can't do it this weekend but hopefully next. How's your schedule? |
I will keep you guys posted if it all goes pear shaped, but for now it's excellent.

I've been having same issue for quite a bit now. I tried to remove the rubber dust boot that's around the clutch fork, but didn't work. I used lithium grease spray can with straw on it to squirt small bit of grease on front and back side of clutchfork, just enough so that the grease can run down and touch the pivot point. Now the squeak is gone.

Rained yesterday for first time in a week or so and the noise came back. It was still raining this morning and the noise was just as loud. So I should assume the noise is somehow related to rain, water, or general dampness.

Lubing the pushrod inside of the slave cylinder got rid of the noise. Is this what Ultramaroon and Dacay107 are planning on making DIY for? I'm also surprised that the tech service said there is no other reports of clutch squeak noise. |

I started hearing this noise on my vehicle a couple of weeks back too. At first I thought it was something temporary and it will give away (noise was very faint). I then did some research online and found this thread.
The noise on my vehicle has been the same (attached video) for the past 2 weeks. I'm not able to reproduce the noise at all times and have been a little hesitant to take it to the dealer for the same reason. I'm not sure under what conditions I can reproduce the noise consistently as I have heard the noise after driving around for some time, after a cold start and when the vehicle is parked with the engine idling, but never consistently. After reading the majority of this thread I see that this issues is being linked to the throwout bearing/clutch plate. Is there anything else I can check from my end before taking it to the dealership? I have 38k miles on my vehicle but I have the extended powertrain warranty on it too. So hopefully, this should be covered under warranty. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cI6r3gfpzZU&feature=youtu.be |
