+1

- why two guys to review one car?
- FR-S looks just like the BRZ? really???
- underpowered? go back to your GT and SS kool-aid and keep sippin'.

you could tell the one guy just doesn't get it. which is ok, one more FR-S for someone who really wants one.

God those guys were annoying.

I like how they bash on the chassis sharing and saying how its nothing great, but at the end they're like its a fantastic car and the chassis sharing makes the car better...

it was a review from the lay-man's perspective i'd say, the opinions are pretty much what all of our non-car guy friends are going to say after we take delivery and introduce our "cool new cars"

Why get upset when they say its under-powered though? that's really the only short coming of this car...the mfg even admits it... they left the power to the aftermarket and designed an excellent baseline.

Now where's my damn car...

poormans_LFA 05-04-2012 03:01 AM

good for arguments sake. fortunately not everyone is going to like this car as much as we do. :happy0180:

Shitty review and those guys were douchebags but at least they enjoyed the car! Also them complaining about the power is probably going to be a common reaction, even I would have liked a bit more torque.

Well the thing that got me was when he said it's sterile and lacks engagement... Eeeh? I thought the whole purpose of this car was to be engaging.

86'd 05-04-2012 12:22 PM

I didn't think it was that bad of a review.

Like someone else said, it seemed like more of a layman's review.

Right now the car could go both ways: Either people will buy it in droves, like a Civic SI, or it'll be a niche car and no one will.

I get what they were saying about "charm." BUT I don't need charm, I just need it to be fun. The S2000 and even new Miatas look just as "boring" as the 86 and it carries no bearing on how they drive. If you love the car that's all that matters. Again I think these guys are looking for "external" charm. To either get women, or to be envied by your neighbors. The 86 just isn't that kind of car.

Eh, in the end the review was pretty favorable, they just had the gripes that a majority of people are going to have. I expected them to go off a lot more on the "lack" of power, but they really didn't.

0-60 take 7.8 seconds...... if you're fat and don't know how to drive

A lot of second-string reviewers don't have the GPS timing equipment that the bigger magazines and such do. So they regurgitate numbers from other sources as their own.
