Tire smell harmful?

I've had a brand new set of tires in my room for about a week and somebody in my home asked me if it's not bad for me to inhale the smell? I didn't think much of it before. I mean it does have a smell but I got used to it but now it has me thinking. Is it bad for your health? I googled it and everyone has different opinions.

No more harm than crickets chillin in the engine bay.

Enjoy silica fibers in your lungs.

You'll be fine.

I'll take that as a yes. I found a spot for them in the garage just to be on the safe side.

Ask the guys that work at a tire place? They are all young.

Silica isn't fibrous, in solid form it is crystalline. Also called sand.

There is less silica coming off those tires than you breathe in walking outside to your car.

There are no health hazards to working around new or used tires, as long as one doesn't drop on you.

Figure it out, where does all the rubber dust go as your tires wear out?

I worked in the tire center at work for 4 years. I forgot what tires even smelled like after a month.
