O2 censor engine code then no cruise control!

So, I knew it was coming but didn't expect to lose my cruise control!
After I installed my Borla UEL header, Perrin over pipe and Tomei front pipe I knew I would get the O2 code but I didn't expect to lose my cruise control!
Cruising along to work at 70 with cruise control set and the check engine light comes on but also, the green cruise control turns yellow and I start slowing down. Try to reset cruise control but it wont set!
Wonder why this feature exists? Anyone else have this problem?
Well, I carry my blue tooth OBD II reader in the glove box and I use the Torque app on my phone so I just reset the code and I'm good. Can't wait to get a tune!

Pretty dumb if you ask me!

Same thing happened to me 6months after I installed my full catless exhaust. I only had to clear it once. Hasn't popped up again.

Then again, cruise control is pretty useless if you're driving stick.

Why?

Indeed. Why use it? I barely ever used it when I had an automatic. I tried using it once when I had my WRX during a long, straight trip up the entire length of I-17 (phoenix to flagstaff). Was lots easier to just keep my foot resting on the gas pedal. Otherwise, lack of interaction meant I got distracted from the road.

I used to get cramped feet and legs driving from LA to Denver in my GTI (it was a stick). I'd use cruise control and my muscles would be much better!
