Would you rather have More powerful or convertible 86 ?

Toyota, and it sub division scion are saying that the new sport car is going through the 3rd year of production, and approaching the 4th. They want to keep the momentum going.

Obviously, they had been releasing limited versions, but that is not enough. They teased us the convertible 86. But got kicked in the butts by Subaru.

They really want to keep up the momentums, so they study it internally as where, how, to produce the 86 convertible without Subaru helps.

Therefore, I have you all an Ultimate question.

If Toyota was to sell more of the 86. Would you buy.

1/ More Powerful 86.
2/ Convertible.

Targa top would be nice but... car needs more power.

More power. At least 240-250hp. Preferably turbo, but even NA would be fine.

If you wanted a convertible get a miata. All the 86 could possibly need is more power

I've driven a few convertibles and they're nice on certain days...but to me that's only great for a rental. The loss of trunk space, the required maintenance on canvas roofs, the weight gain and increased price for me aren't worth it.

I'm one of the few who is satisfied with the power output of this car, but for sure I wouldn't say no if I were given more.

Here's my thought, and I'll preface it with I've never owned a convertible myself but have driven them a lot. I'd personally like both options. I can add more power to a car much easier, and cheaper, than making it a convertible, not to mention more reliable. So, since I can only vote for one, I vote for convertible.

Powow

Definitely power. Another 50-75 hp would be perfect.

twag4 01-26-2014 11:36 AM

Power.

ericmpena 01-26-2014 11:38 AM

Power definitely.

Last time I drove a convertible, some fat redneck woman threw a half-filled, large coke from McDonalds out the passenger's side window, hitting the top of my windshield and leaving me and my friend completely drenched.

So yeah, I'll take more power.

Convertibles are fun if they make mechanical noises from the 1960's and '70's and are only driven when it's not raining. If a car is driven daily I'll have fuel injection and a hard top. :-)

na 250 hp at 10:5:1 covertibles are for girls
